Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone has experienced sibling discontent in their AS child... my daughter has been throwing tantrums if her brother comes in her room probably since he was old enough to crawl (he's 6 now) But she also cries if he touches her, she says his touch is painful. He never really has done anything to hurt her... so I was just curious as to others that may experience this sort of behavior. dianna=)
Guest guest
Hi Dianna, I am new to learning about AS, but I have learned that some people with AS do not like to have their things touched. Also saying she's been hit or hurt when someone brushed against her/touches her sounds like a sensory issue to me, and she really feels like she has been hit. This is also very common with AS. Just my opinion! Jill
Guest guest
Thanks for your opinion...! I have heard that asking about sensory issue may be the thing to do... I just haven't yet. I really think in my state (colorado) doctors are almost hard pressed to deal with the kids with AS or any learning disability because they are becoming more abundant. For a long time the doctors around here actually had me believing she was behind because I wasn't a good enough mom to teach her anything. I should have known better.... but there are a great many excellent doctors out there... I just need to find the one that is right for us. dianna=) "Don't forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he'd ever wished for... he lived happily ever after." ~Willy Wonka Re: sibling discontent Hi Dianna, I am new to learning about AS, but I have learned that some people with AS do not like to have their things touched.
