feeling indeed, As long as I was at least as healthy as I am now.

I'm 5'8 " and have to work to keep my weight between 135 and 140 lbs. I'm not

skinny, but I'm not round either.

When I had cancer the first time, my weight quickly plummeted. The doc put me on

the scale and I was 105. I told him I wouldn't get back on the scale until I

knew I was gaining some weight. I have a couple of pictures of

me from during that time period. I looked like a Biafran. Don't know what I

weighed by the end of treatment and surgeries, 'cause I never did get back on a

scale. All I know is that I was less than a hundred pounds and

waaaaay past scraggly.

Ironically, I ended up quite fat a few short years later and had to lose lots of

weight. (no pleasing some people:-)

These days the passed middle age wrinkly normal weight self looks okay -- until

I have an IBS flare. Then within a few minutes I can go from having a

relatively flat stomach to looking like I'm ready to deliver a nine pound

baby. For work, I have to always carry a loose fitting suit jacket with me, so

that if I start to swell I can cover it up quickly and then make my escape.

(Don't want to shock the locals).

At home, when my tummy swells to looking about the seventh month pregnant stage,

my dear hubby always shakes his head and says, " Jeez, now you're really starting

to scare me! " Then we start picking names :-)

The IBS hurts like hell, but at least it gives us something to chuckle about.

This has been a fun thread to read. I know that inactivity due to

pain has made a bigger man out of me! Thanks to all.

Yeah, I know, and no matter how we would like for it to be, we do get judged

by our outward appearance, sometimes even by the Dr.'s who know our health

situation and should know better than to make a remark about how we should

lose some weight. If it was that easy, I would just decide to be a size 9

tomorrow. Sounds good, huh? :)

Hugs,

I work 3 days a week and the company has just hired this super skinny gal

who has mentioned for two days in a row how she needs to gain some weight

and talks about how her clothes are just falling off her *sigh* if she knew

how close she was to being strangled, surely she would just be quiet, lol.

Hugs,

I by no means meant that you are scarggly, but I know I'd love to be. To

have my clothes fall off due to weight loss-- up to a point--would be a very

nice feeling indeed, As long as I was at least as healthy as I am now.

Love and hugs to your skinny self!
