Guest guest
Hi, I wanted to know if anyone has done a controlled medication study for seizure activity? I posted a few weeks ago about sleep and insomnia, and we met with neuro today to discuss options as we have tried almost all seizure medications for abnormal epileptic activity that occurs only at night. (Ruby does not have classified seizures as of now). He wants to try a controlled study in the hospital for 4 days, delivering high doses of steroids for calming her activity, and if that doesn't work we will do another MRI and present her case for brain surgery--to remove the affected tissue on the right side of the brain (where the PMG is--and where all the irregular activity is coming from). Of course this topic freaks me out--but then I may be wrong if someone had a very positive experience with it to share? According to neuro, this tissue and side of the brain in general is useless as all function seems to be coming from the left (good) side of the brain. I never really thought of the pmg side as useless since she is high functioning but quite interesting that the " good " brain has taken over. Any thoughts or experiences will be very appreciated! Thanks so much,
