Guest guest
Hi everyone, While at the FCM Convention, Dr. Dobyns recommended that EVERY child's heel stick blood spot cards be tested for CMV. He states that he feels that CMV could be the causative factor in 20-30% of all PMG cases. I just found the actual retention policy for EACH state for the heel stick blood spot cards that Dr. Dobyns recommended that we ALL request to have tested for CMV. A LOT of the states keep the cards for less than ONE year! Some only three months! Here is the link for the retention policies by state: http://www.cchfreedom.org/files/files/50%20States%20-%20Newborn%20Blood%20Retent\ ion%20Policies%20TWILA%20-2012(4).pdf And here is the link to each state's program for Newborn Screening Program with contact information. Click on your state for more information: http://genes-r-us.uthscsa.edu/resources/consumer/statemap.htm He said that your physician should be able to contact your state organization to request the CMV testing.
