Hello All,

Twice lately we have had requests for funding emails. They were innocent enough

but I want to explain why this is not appropriate here.

It is ok to say " I am trying to get $ to do such and such for my child and does

anyone have any ideas? " I have seen people offer fund raising ideas. I once

asked for suggestions on communications devices and one mom sent me her son's

old communication device since he had upgraded to a new one. I asked for

advice, she offered help. I didn't ask for anyone out there to give me one and

that's the difference in how are group is being run.

We offer each other advice on what doctors are good. We offer each other support

in dealing with relatives or with the educational system or medications. We ask

for advice, but we don't ask for $.

This is not a slam on people who did that. Life is tough as a parent of a

handicapped child and we get enough doors shut in our faces. Please don't leave

or feel like you aren't still welcome in our group.

I do monitor our emails (after they are sent) so when you get those weird emails

that say go to whatever .com website for schooling. I do ban those people off

our pmg group who send those weird emails.

So, please just ignore the " asking for $ emails " as they will come up again from

people. I will talk to them on the side and if they continue asking for $ after

the discussion they will be banned.

This is understandable, but I just want to clarify that the message I posted

about the $200 gift card was in no way asking anybody for money or anything

else. I was simply stating the struggle we were currently facing, and the ideas

I had found that may help, and I thought it would be nice to share that with

this group in hopes that if I didn't win the giveaway that maybe at least

someone here that really needed it might win, or maybe it would give the idea of

how to get money or items that they may need.

I don't see how some people felt the responses to that message were necessary,

but I do appreciate the support that I received from other's replies.

Thank you.
