Why don't you ask your family and friends for a small donation. If they don't

know what you are dealing with then they are not friends or you need to educate

them more on what PMG is. It's so hard being a parent and dealing with this.

We bought our son one and he can barely use it now and he is 7. Maybe it will

help in the future. In anycase this is not a forum for others to feel bad for

each other and donate or suggest how to figure out how you should get an ipad or

money to travel somewhere. I want my public school to buy an ipad for

communication help but I'm not asking how do get funds here.

Sorry to vent but tired of reading these emails lately!

$200 Gift Card! =)

I don't think there are any rules against posting this here, but if so please

just let me know. As I have been trying so hard to apply for grants and help to

get my daughter an Ipad for a communication and learning device I have had no

luck, I started venturing out and finding other giveaways from blogs and such,

entering as many as possible. As we all know, any kind of help is worth trying

for right? I just entered to win a $200 Amazon Gift Card, and to earn an extra

entry it asked me to share it with a community such as facebook, or anything

else. So I immediately thought of everyone here first. I would much rather share

this with all of you than anyone else as I know it would greatly help any of you

just as much as it would us.

Here is the link to the giveaway,

http://www.momtobedby8.com/2012/06/200-amazon-gift-certificate-giveaway.html

I am in no way affiliated with this website, it is not a scam, I just wanted to

share the opportunity with my fellow PMG families. And if anyone else knows of

any other opportunities like this I would love to hear about them, you can send

me an email at geminilove913@yahoo

Thank you. =) And good luck if you decide to enter!

I personally have never met another parent with a child with PMG face

to face and this group is a source of tremendous support, knowledge, and

inspiration. I don't think anyone would intentionally offend anyone

else, I think we're all just grasping at whatever straws we can to get

that next ray of hope (or help) for our children. Please remember this

and try to refrain from judging. We are all in the same boat...a boat

that none of us chose to be in, but are in nonetheless. Showing

compassion for one another will make all of our journeys more bearable.

I think some parents/loved ones have been dealing with PMG for a long time,

others for a period and still others are newly inducted members to a club nobody

ever asked to join. Let's be kind. Let's be a place where nobody has to worry

about saying something " wrong " . I know that I often feel " wrong " or

" inadequate "  in a world where I have to be my kid's constant advocate without

be too strident or too bitchy, where others have no idea what it takes to

navigate the terrifying journey that faces parents and caregivers and loved ones

of kids with PMG. PMG stinks. And perhaps nobody gets that better than all of

us. If we don't like somebody asking for money, then, let's just ignore. I know

we are all in different financial situations. If you can give..give. If you

can't, don't. If you need to ask, do. I say let's do that for one another. But

if you disagree, that's okay too. Just delete this post...delete....it's such a

great button.

Maybe my original post was a bit confusing? I was not asking anybody for money

or donations, I was simply trying to share the opportunity I had found to give

anyone else interested a chance to win the $200 as well. It does not help my

chances what so ever if anyone enters or not, I just thought all of you could

surely use an extra $200 just as much as my family could.

I think the post was fine to share - just be cautious of these types of

promotions - you don't know who you are sharing your information with. This

particular promotion has no privacy policy on it at all so who knows what they

are doing with your info. Information is worth a lot of $$ to some and can be

resold. Nothing's ever free. : )

We need to support each other emotionally to keep going.   Just ignore $$$$

stuff if you don't want anything to do with it.  We all have alot of needs and

just try to find answers.
