Guest guest
Caroline, I'm certainly sorry for your loss, but do you have any kind of evidence linking your late husband's cancer to the epidurals? I have read a bit on the subject of epidurals and never came across that thinking before. I am not trying to be confrontational here but many people might be frightened away from this type of treatment by reading your post. Take care, Jeff-NY/PA jeffreyscharff@... AKA zinsdad@... " Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens. " Jimi Hendrix Re: First post need advice <<My deceased husband had epidurals after a bad work-related spinal accident for disc protrusion & stenosis of the lower spine. >> I don't recommend them but they do indeed relieve a lot of pain but not all of it for some people. My dr. sez they crumble the spine too so she doesn't recommend them. Which is probably why the bowels & bladder are affected when the spinal nerves can't deliver energy to the organs. My husband ended up with cancer in several organs which killed him. I wouldn't want that so I've never gotten them. Lots of people do though & swear by them. Guest guest
Caroline, All I have to say is bless you for all you have been through. You really have persevered and kept everything in perspective. You have offered great advice to all of us on several occassions and truly are a wonderful lady, as evident by your manner and decorum in emailing and interrelating with others. Thanks for that..... :-) Jan Caroline Pollak wrote: Hi Jeff, No confrontation received here. This is about discussion.
Guest guest
Jeff, (my son's name too) The flier they gave my husband with the bowel/bladder warning wasn't part of the release form. It wasn't at allin small, fine print either. It was on a separate sheet of paper & printed in large bold black letters to get the patient's immediate attention. You couldn't miss reading it. It was given at every first shot series & he had a series of 3 shots a week or so apart every couple of months for nearly a year or more. I agree it may have been more than enough to cause his side fx. No apology necessary about the cancer. It did come off somewhat that way in my post. Glad to clarify & smart of you to want it. Caroline Scharff wrote: Caroline, Wow you sure had a host of problems to deal with. I'm not doubting the hospitals warning of course. I have never seen that in the sheets I have gotten but it's very possible I wasn't paying attention.
Guest guest
That's not what they said on another list, LOL! But then I think someone read me wrong on that one. But thanx much for the kudos & right back atcha! Superwoman I'm not though, as my kids have always thought. I don't think they'll ever realize that until I'm 6' under tho. Funny about that, never could understand it. Caroline
