Only been diagnosed last month but think I have been getting it for a few years now.9. How long have you had erythema nodosum or PG?About 5 years ago I started getting these nodules on my right leg, but they were not painful, doctor said was related to allergy. Went away for about a year. About 3 years ago they returned on my right leg, again not painful. Started getting them on my left leg as well. There were continuously moving from leg to leg but never above the calf muscle. Went back to doctor who sent me for ultra scan, and was told it was fatty tissue under skin but said it was probably part of my allergy and to continue taking allergy pills. Then about 3 months ago got one on my left leg which was extremely painful and could hardly walk. Doctor finally sent me to the dermatologist who immediately told me it was EN and sent me for biopsy, and now awaiting to find out results from tests to find underlying cause, if any.10. Guest guest
Hi there! I went back to the dermatologist today for my results. Well the biopsy has confirmed that it is EN. The test for sarcoidosis came back negative. I went for a few blood tests, and the results that have come back are that I am slightly anemic, have slightly low platelet count and my liver function is slightly high. All on the border lines. The dermatologist also sent me for a chest xray for TB which came out clear but he has decided to send me for the skin test for TB, as he feels that living and growing up in South Africa there is the risk. I have been in the UK for 4 years now and been getting these lumps for 5 years. Surely if I had TB, I would have known that by now. I did look online and apparently you can get latent TB that have no symptoms and you don't feel ill. He has also sent me for more liver tests, including Hepatitis, as my mother passed away from liver sclerosis and just wanted to rule that out, is this hereditary? Anyway at least I cant complain that he is not thorough? Any ideas? Leg is better now but I have my good days and bad days.
