Guest guest
, What's RSD? But I'm with you on the obsession to clear up this hip bursitis & the rest of the joint flareups I've having the past few months. I also was one to dress up, put make on, fix the hair just right & be color coordinated, matching sox & shoes, wear my pierced earrings every day before going out to water my yard or to the mailbox or out anywhere else. Now I'm just a slob..sweating & wearing the same clothes 2 days in a row, not doing the laundry as often cuz it hurts, nor the dishes nor any housework or much of anything else except doctoring, resting & at-home therapy or being on the computer. My appearance has gone down hill considerably & I've aged a lot. Fighting big pain is a stressful process that takes all our strength leaving nothing for much else. It hurts to shower or take a bath or even fill the tub & takes so long that some nights I fall into bed for needed sleep without it & don't even floss or brush my teeth. I have therapy to do instead the dr gave me & I'm sooooo tired. And also tired of this awful pain, tho it IS getting better. I'm with you on not wanting to buy expensive meds or supplements for not knowing if the remissions have been from better diet, less strenuous work & workouts, no meds, new meds or supplements or what. Guest guest
I have scads of pierced earrings but haven't worn them much since I moved to this one-horse country farming town like I did when I lived in the city. I want to keep the pierces open though so do wear tiny studs often. Ok, now I know what RSD is. Yes, I agree cutting nerves is wrong. I also wish the AMA would get with it. There's so much natural healing modalities out there that work. If only the docs would incorporate more into their practices. But....they don't require drugs or surgery so it's money out of their pocket. It's a money game. There are Cancer & AIDS cures out there but they don't use them...no money in it. Caroline Herring wrote: I laughed when you wrote about your pierced earrings. I don't even think I know where a pair of mine are right now and I have some very nice ones. I did wonder the other day if the holes have grown up yet? I do need to find a pair and see if I am going tohave to have them pierced again, : )
Guest guest
Thanx for sharing all that, Al. The end-of-the-spine node thingie that stops working after too much pain was very informative. Never heard of that 'till now. I'll mention it to my new orthopedist my PCP's getting for me. I've been on EFAs for years now. They're essential Omega oils actually. It helps greatly to lower cholesterol & triglyceride levels along with oat bran, ground flax seed & lecithin I also take for that. It's supposed to be wonderful for joint pain too. Beyond that I don't know much more (or forgot) & going to have refresh my memory about it online because someone else was asking about it too. But I don't know if they're helping with joint pain or not since I have too much pain right now to think so. Maybe I'm not taking a high enough dosage of the EFAs. I should increase it & then observe. However since my doc just gave me new pain meds, how would I know if that's helping or the EFAs are? It gets so complicated. The reason I started is because my son was born brain injured lacking myelin, white matter in the central part of his brain affecting all voluntary motor functions, walking to talking. Guest guest
Can I remember to answer the unanswered questions? My mega dose of EFA is average 200% recommended. It is a Canadian made product, a black jar with Sun in the brand name I picked up at GNC which looks like they special ordered for someone else their GNC brand was half the dose./ RSD deffinately attacks, some are weather related like athritis pain, others are stress or sensory overload related and both of those reverse them selves to to where they started. If I felt really good and walked a lot for part of a day I would be bed ridden for 2 days. There are also the RSD attacks that are of there own accord lasting a solid week like trips to hell and when they are over the sufferer is to some degree worse than before./ BTW my doctor suggested placing the duragesic patch over the nerve on top of the foot. They called for 3 days of T-storms here in the desert southwest so I am wearing one on my foot now. It's working. That's all I can remember. Guest guest
My heart goes out to you, Al. You sound much worse off than I am. I don't know what else to say except I hold the vision of health, healing & release of pain for you as I do myself & the others in this group. Blessings, Caroline
