Guest guest
Hi Wil, Welcome among us you lurker you. I've been in many 12 step programs myself these 67 years of my life. I agree with you that emotional pain can definitely cause physical pain & also physical illness, infirmities & dis-ease (not being at ease). How excrutiating for you to be experiencing #10 pain to the point of numbness & on Rx meds at that! May I ask what your pain is caused by, related to or diagnosed as? What pathology? Or do you know? Emotions only? Or something else? Not that I'm a physican. diagnostician, healer or anything similar, just curious if you care to tell us if or when you feel comfortable enough to do so. Meantime glad to have you with us & I wish you all the best. Many blessings, Caroline
Guest guest
Hello Wil Those long string of days when you are at a 10 are certainly both wicked and debilitating. Somehow we get along but when that happens to me ie almost the entire month of May and June were exhausting. Some of the things I do during those horrible times are to stay extra warm, read murder mysteries or something suspenseful, take extra Seroquel and Vistaril and chant " This won't lasts forever " . I try to continue reading a few posts from the group since this is a big part of my sanity. " White noise " is relaxing to me so I turn the humidifier and the bedroom fan on full blast. I sleep if I can but I force myself to bathe each day and try to fix something for supper even if it is to just heat up a can of chili. DH and I use a great deal of generic Ben Gay for muscular pain. I rub his feet and back and he rubs my neck, shoulders and back. Kaylene PS Congrats on the years of sobriety. > I was aware that emotional pain could bring own body pain but i have >had the worst week ever. My pain was a steady 10 for about four days >and thats with meds. Then i just went numb ,thats where i am now i > anyway, Thanks >wil.. > > _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Guest guest
-- I was diagnosed with Fibro in my early 20's. Young and dumb was i and did not believe them,(doctors). I drank and used HARD drugs from the time i was 13 untill 30 something. When i was pregnant with my oldest child I stopped the druging but the Drink was mine till 30 or so. The pain level came two weeks ago when my oldest child overdosed and died. (First time i have written it down.) he was here for about a week, then went back to Calif.he called to tell me he loves me and that he can't do this anymore. I have beat myself black and blue emotionally form this. The " if only " and the should have's have just about won. The thing that keeps me getting out of bed is the belief i have in a higher power, my other kids and friends that have jumped in and are truly working majic in my life. I also have degen. disk disease and cyst's in both knees. I have had surgery for Carpel Tunnell last fall and that has helped a lot. but my fingers lock and still get tingly I went for years not wanting to take anything " mood or mind alterin " and ended up with ulcers in my stomach. I also have those odd pain days sore feet one day elbows the next. I have read that is normal for fibro . so for the past year, I have taken oxyc.20 mg every 8 to 12 hours. and 10 mg percacet for the break thru. I had to put a lot of prayer and a lot of meetings in before i started on any of it. It just came down to what kind of life do i have when i can't even take my younest child for a walk, I have found that so many folks relly don't understand any of this. so as i said. i am just amazed by you folks. thanks, long winded wil.. > > Not that I'm a physican. diagnostician, healer or anything similar, just curious if you care to tell us if or when you feel comfortable enough to do so. Actually..the right one in Dec and the left in March. I'm THRILLED with my results. I had so much pain before. I read somewhere that B6 is very good for carpal tunnel type symptoms..and began taking it before my surgery. It DOES help! Several Dr's who specialize in CT problems have said that often the problem is a B6 deficiency..not CT..so you might try that and see if it helps the problems you continue to have after your surgery. Best wishes! Jan @->--
