I tried to do without the morphine and couldn't walk upright. So, there's definitely something wrong somewhere. I'll let y'all know what it is when I find out. Meanwhile, I'm still doing the Pampered Chef thing, younger two went back to school earlier this month and the oldest goes back next month. _______________________________________________--- Hi melissa, I can relate to the pain management thing. I'm using a tens like vest at times that is provided by pain management. If your interested let me know and I'll provide more info, but I'd worry more about what is causing the pain before I'd treat. My last MRI suggested myleogram for further diagnosis, but I was really glad when the doc just looked at it and put it away...But if my hip and knee pain don't get better with the pannie and all, I'm going to have to do something. I can't lift my right leg at this point without some degree of pain. I take mepergan for pain control and it is the only pain med that I can take without severe migraine type headaches and puking. Have you discussed with your pain doc any other meds for pain control? I tried a duragesic patch once, and after 4 hrs I was walking like a pro! I stood up and thought " OMG!! I don't hurt. " Then about 6-8 hrs later the nausea happened. I yanked the danged thing off and flushed it. Then the next morning was hurting so bad I thought I'd try again. Same results but the nausea came faster. It was the most amazing pain relief I've ever had with anything. Others I've spoken to have said they woke up pain free for the first time in months on end. I wish I could take it as it was wonderful....Not in a feel good way(I've never gotten any kind of " feel good " from any pain meds and never understood the reason for addictions...especially lortab, they just make me puke and sleep...LOL) It was a relief from pain that no other med has helped with since. I'm worried about pain control post pannie because I take the mepergan sporadically, and worry that it might be harder to control my pain due to this. Do ou still have urinary problems? Is it possible the pain is Kidney induced in part? I've found that when you have back pain that they say anything is back related. Same with fibro. That's how I ended up with acute appendicitis and never knew it...LOL...Just assumed it was my periods again. Be careful. Don't assume it's all back related. It might be a combination of both. Be glad you found a few good docs. That's a good deal of some problems. A doc who has no empathy can make your life miserable. I know my Rheumatologist kept telling me to take darvocett and only at night and only when I have to. When I saw my currrent pain doc, I had been awake for 3 days and hurting so bad by night I wanted to die. (Very serious) My biggest problem was I was fighting the pain and ignoring it instead of treating it. I had been warned by my neurologist that if I kept on as I was I'd be disabled in 5 years. She was right. Multiple overtime shifts and a car wreck and 3 years later I was in bad shape. I couldn't take muscle relaxers because i couldn't work much less overtime.....So I cried myself to sleep every morning when I was trying to sleep because the muscle spasms stared when I tried to lie down. If you need a sympathetic ear about pain and control, e-mail me. I can very much understand. I also worked ortho so Back surgeries and neck surgeries are second nature to me. Have you had an actual myleogram to see if there is a rupture or see if the spinal cord is compromised? (Mine was in my neck from a spur that had shifted) In case you don't know the myleogram is where they inject dye into the spinal canal so they can see the inside of the spinal column ....it's not fun but needed sometimes. I also have a intercranial hyertension that requires periodic spinal taps so I tend to run from people with big needles....LOL. When they were getting ready for my hyst and the annesthesiologist said we could do it general or spinal and I said no way! It's not that cold yet(IE....Hell hadn't froze over....LOL) and we did general.

Guest guest
Missy do you think you have suffered enough? I vote yes, and hope that painfree-mobil days are in the near future. And to think this all started out as a quest for clean panties. Healing Hugs Jo
Guest guest
Oye Melisa! What a bunch of hurdles your PCP is making you go through! It wouldn't be so bad if you were getting some answers. I sure hope you have some by now. I hope you're able to get off the morphine soon, too. Nausea is NO fun! Hugs! Tracey > Hi Everyone, > > I know, I know, you've not heard from me in forever.
