Guest guest
I do not have a number off hand, sorry...but it was a mainstream ped who said his infection was bad...so it must have been VERY high for that type of dr to conceed Matt had an issue...esp since it did not present in the trad way - diahrea-in my kid...IBS type contipation and mushy stools...I think the flagyl did help, but the diet strategies are the only long term hope for quality pof life and to end this NIGHTMARE in this generation so we do not have to save any grandkids from similar fates..the more you know the more you will change and the more gains you will see...hopefully to the point of full recovery. Guest guest
Under bacterial section- HPHPA. Re: SCD recipes......... where to get them The website is Pecanbread, but the most important thing about SCD for most of our kids is THE INTRO...soup - the chicken soup if homemade has qualities that heal the intestinal lining followed by easy to digest foods introduced VERY slowly, methodically...and yes, tediously. We were not able to pull it off in our house and our son was a constipation IBS case on a diahrea UC and Crohns type case...this is IMPORTANT as the diet is intentionally very constipating....so , if your child does not have diahrea you really need to modify it from day one...it also does not adequately address fungal issues....it does the bacteria ones though esp clostridia def...which usually presents with bloody diahrea etc....however my son had a big clostridia overgrowth...so there is no magic bullet. Our adventures in the diet arena have led us to believe that a hybrid of the BED and the SCD is THE best diet for most of the kids on the spectrum...Stan did the intro soup phase of the SCD...failed as we all did on it bc bananas were a huge probelm for his kid as were many of the other items like veggies - kid would not eat them, mine cannot digest them...etc. In this house we have finally figured out that SCD approach using BED concepts....INTRO liquid phase to give the gut a break and to starve what can be starved, NO NO NO Grains, C Carbs, starches, sugars except TINY bit of honey where nec. (SCD) combined with the fermented foods of the BED, the NO fruit initially of the BED, and the foods of the BED for long tern good health and gut healing....our family may never bring in the grains though, we shall see...our whole family does SO much better for the time being on an almost grainless existance...we now have fresh fruits and most veggies again....Matt is on protein, fat, and no more than 1 piece of fruit, low glycemic like few slices of pear of granny smith apples per day until yeast is no longer a big obstacle...good luck. THe diet stuff when you hit the right healing strategy is near miraculous....we are still working out the kinks for our son's unique needs...but we had a years gains in less than four months, so it is worth the effort and hassle....THe SCD is brilliant just watch out for overfeeding fruits and honey and moving too quickly to the harder to digest foods...Di--- In mb12 valtrex , "hamzah.reem" wrote: > > > > > > Hi, > > I was reading earlier today someone posting about an SCD chicken > > pancake. Guest guest
Thanks. We're doing scd legal foods and parts of bed diet but we're still missing something as far as healing the gut and getting rid of the yeast and bacteria. Hope the flagyl took care of Matt's clostridia. Guest guest
Gotchya. Ok - my son's HPHPA was normal; however his 4-hydroxyphenylacetic was high at 62.47 with the range 0-50. Is this something worse than the HPHPA or just the same of an issue in regards to bacteria? Guest guest
I think Clostridia can be shown on the OAT under HPHPA. My son's HPHPA was normal, but on another metabolic profile (same exact cup of pee sent to another lab...genova diagnostics) DHPPA was elevated...doc said this was Clostridia. Can't explain it, but hope that helps Kari > > > > > > Hi, > > > I was reading earlier today someone posting about an SCD chicken > > > pancake. Is there a website for recipes? Guest guest
I'm not sure, my daughter's was normal. Maybe someone else knows about that. Guest guest
I believe the clostridia was measured by hippuric acid?? My son's was around 1,200 I believe. This may explain how WELL he did with Flagyl. > > > > > > Hi, > > > I was reading earlier today someone posting about an SCD chicken > > > pancake. Is there a website for recipes?
