Guest guest
Lipitor is a Statin drug, therefore it can cause major problems as well Alzeheimers is definitely one, catteracts, liver damage, yes Lipitor would really help replace Prednisone. Sharon I quit taking all cholesterol meds and my chilesterol is now running 170 without it. Strecker wrote: Hi Sharon,The study said:This study will determine if atorvastatin (Lipitor), a widely usedcholesterol-lowering drug, can help patients with pulmonary (lung)sarcoidosis and replace or reduce the need for patients to takesteroids, such as prednisone. Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory diseasethat can affect nearly any part of the body. Pulmonary sarcoidosis mayresolve on its own or it may progress to irreversible lung damage, disability, and death. Many sarcoidosis patients are treated withprednisone, but the drug is not effective in all patients, and it cancause serious side effects, such as high blood pressure, sugardiabetes, eye cataracts, and bone thinning.*******I thought it sounded like an interesting approach to lower or evenstop use of prednisone for sarc. patients. In my family my mom had two sisters: one older and one younger. My Momdied at 62, her younger sister died at 75 both from heart attacks.Neither took statin drugs. The older sister has taken statin drugs fordecades and is going strong at 87. Of course I have no idea of Mom andmy deceased aunt's cholesterol levels. They died before statin drugswere invented. My older aunt has high cholesterol which only thestatin drugs could lower. Her older dtr. [my cousin Heleen] is now onthe statin drugs too.By the way, my Aunt Did Get Cataracts and had them surgically removed,so your post is very well taken. Thanks for the "heads up", Sharon.Love,Idio. Guest guest
My husband is a studious with herbs and I started taking what he does and no more problems. Doctors want to push prescription drugs because they are on the payrolls of all drug companies. This is all a known fact. I have done research and so has my husband and even doctors that are now into all the herbs and alternative meds, are speaking out. This is a very sad situation. Guest guest
Jeff I was on Methotrexate and I took myself off of it. The others you mentioned are the ones I for got. I am also still doing my study with the Fumaric Acid for ,y skin Sarc and I feel it is really helping since I have had no new outbreaks on my skin. Sharon Jeff wrote: rebecca,in addition, niacin and omega 3 oils (fish or flax seed).hi cholesteral runs in my family. the herbs don't do a whole lot for me. we are trying zetia now. yes, it is rx. zetia works in the gi system, never enters your blood stream. i can't take anything like lipitor because the meds i am on now already effect my liver (mtx for one).some of these, such as garlic, by-in-large will have good immediate effects, but after some time the benefits wear off. guess the body is just readjusting itself i guess. one doc told me the body has it's "set points" and tends to gravitate back to those if forced off by some med or treatment of some type.anyway, thought i would throw in my 2 cents on the subject. and btw, thanks for posting the pg link.jeff> Hi Sharon,> Can you list the herbs you take to lower cholesterol?
