Guest guest
Hello all, Does anyone have worsening symptoms just before and during your period? This has happened to me the last two months. I am still on 5 mg Prednisone for my first EN outbreak in March and started Plaquenil about two months ago. I have been doing fine but get extreme fatigue, a general ill feeling, and joint pain mainly in my elbows and knees. This is discouraging because I am trying to wean off the Prednisone and wonder how bad it would get when I am finally off it. Any information would be helpful. I am on the birth control pill and notice the symptoms start just as I am taking that last week of " blanks " . I am tempted to just skip that week and continue with a new pack. Guest guest
Does anyone have worsening symptoms just before and during your period? YES! For the last several years, other than getting an infection - that was the only time my legs would swell up - right before. This has happened to me the last two months. I am still on 5 mg Prednisone for my first EN outbreak in March and started Plaquenil about two months ago. I am on the birth control pill and notice the symptoms start just as I am taking that last week of "blanks". I am tempted to just skip that week and continue with a new pack. I'm not on any birth control pill or any birth control of any kind. Yet, about the time I started ovulating (approx.) would be the time that my legs would swell up. It was easy to keep track of my menstrual cycle, but on top of monthly cramps, I had to deal with EN, flu symptoms and fever. Its strange, but this last EN flare-up has been around 3 months - by far the longest in many many years and it went away with this menstrual cycle. I'm still having some cramping in my feet where the nodules were, some flu-like symptoms, and my leg in the back is still a little tight - - -but NOTHING like it was a week ago. I'm not on any treatment for EN either. Very Strange. . . . Tawnya, "IdioEN" '
Guest guest
" Hello all, Does anyone have worsening symptoms just before and during your period? Idiopathic EN since March '06 " Hi , I have wondered if anyone else has had this problem also. There are so many things that can aggravate EN symptoms that I just figured the that I was suffering from peri-menopausal problems. I have never had many problems with my period to begin with past the usual fluid retention. BUT... the past several years I have noticed that the week before my period starts that I have a lot of extra heaviness in my legs and joints. I wonder how many of the other female members go through this too? I hope you are feeling better soon.
