Guest guest
I would contact the Equal Opportunity Employment Organization (can't remember the exact name) or the ACLU - to see what your rights are. Guest guest
Even under FMLA Jan you can be terminated. If your company decides that you are an " essential " employee - in other words, very important person; they can terminate you - at least that is the way my husband's FMLA paperwork stated when he had a blood clot six weeks ago. We are still nervous they are going to let him go, but so far he is back to work 1/2 days for this week and will go full time next week. But as a general rule, FMLA really is there to protect you. Also consider govt disability. Talk to your doctors about it, and usually if there is a good letter with evidence from your doctor, you can qualify for that. Guest guest
, Thank you for the information. It is a sorry state that your husband is going through the same thing, but it nice for me to know I am not alone. I do have great paperwork already on reacord from my diagnosing/treating physician where a lot of this is in my favor (with regard to my condition). I just hate the fact that I have been a loyal and hard working employee for this compnay before and after diagnosis of FMS and now really feel threatened for my job security! With reagrd to the governmental insurance, a reyou referring to Social Security or is there another avenue I am not aware of? Thanks again for your help and response, Jan wrote: Even under FMLA Jan you can be terminated. Guest guest
I am referring to social security disability. It has been a Godsend to me. I was a medical secretary (with no insurance available from employer) for 14 years! I was completely lost as to what to do. This was so helpful to me.
