Guest guest
I also am unable to tolerate Armour and use the 50 mcg of Levothroid (4/day). It seems that folks with autoimmune problems can very often be allergic to pork since pigs are the animals that are biologically the closest to human, thus it would not be unusual for it to trigger allergic and autoimmune reactions. B. Steph - I have the same reaction with Armour - I get hives, especially after I get heated up from the sun or an uncomfortable room. Unithroid does not react that way for me - and I take the .50 with no dyes. > > > I was in Spain for 10 days and my purse was stolen along with my armour. Our tour guide took me to the pharmacy to see if we could replace my armour. the pharmacist had never heard of armour but she gave me levothroid. Fortunately this was on Friday, so I called Dr. 's office and they told me to take 300 mcg of the levothyroid. > > I 've only been taking it for 5 days but have felt great w > which is unusual because i usually dont' feel good on any med changes. Guest guest
Yes, I also take Cytomel along with the levothroid. Levothroid (and Levoxyl) do not have any lactose - I take the generic Levothroid manufactured by Forest. I prefer Levothroid to Levoxyl. If you are going from Armour to Levothroid, then likely you also need some T3 - many of us do not convert properly. There are some tables out there that show how you can do that conversion - T3 is something like 4.25 the " strength " of T4 - i.e., you would replace approximately 22.0 mcg of T4 with 5 mcg of Cytomel. What dose of Armour were you on? B. - do you take any T3? just wondering....I've gone back to Armour because I gained 5 lbs....but I plan to discuss this topic further with Dr. when I see her. Guest guest
I'm on 3.5 gr armour right now. I'm definitely thinking going this route, especially in light of what I went through last winter with the armor shortage. Do not want to do that again!ThanksStephSent from my iPhone Yes, I also take Cytomel along with the levothroid.
