Guest guest
What tests should I be asking for? I have an appt with a doctor tomorrrow - what should I ask them? What tests should be run? Blood work? Is bedrest and prednisone a standard remedy for the pain? What type of doctor should be treating me? All of the doctors I've encountered seem to tell me " hmm this is uncommon. " Any direction would be much appreaciated. I have no other health issues. I had a baby in Oct 2005 and have been on the Nuvaring for about 5 months. I had strep throat twice in May. Guest guest
Hi , Standard tests include CBC, chest x-ray and strep test, but you already know you just had strep which is a very common trigger of EN, and you are on hormonal birthcontrol, another comon trigger. If you address the strep infection and stop using hormonal birth control, the EN may go into remission. These tests are to rule out more serious triggering disorders. Many of us can't find a single trigger, but you have two very common ones to eliminate: a drug reaction and a very common bacterial infection. Let us know what your doctor recommends.
