Has anyone read Barron's Parenting keys, Keys to parenting the child with

autism. This book has a lot of useful info. I'll keep this short, but here

are a few lines that I found very helpful and intrusting.

Studies from the 1980s indicate that about 50 percent of people with autism

develop usable speech. More recent research indicates the 83 percent of

these children gain language.

Your child's inability to relate to other people and situations can be

dangerous, embarrassing, and disruptive.

The child may treat family members and strangers with equal emotion or

indifference. Try to understand this seeming disinterest for what it, an

inability to understand social relationships.

People with autism are unable to make sense of their world because they

receive incomplete sounds and pictures.

I have only read about half of the book already, its great.

Looks like you're on to something here. :-)

" People with autism are unable to make sense of their world because they

receive incomplete sounds and pictures. " I find especially provocative.

I'd like to see more ........ and your comments.

Keep posting.
