Mostly been eating salads and lots of fruit and yogurt since it's been summer. I know my common channel is shorter than most since I'm a revision, but it's never given me this much trouble unless I'm crazy enough to eat cheesecake. Any advice or suggestions would be welcomed. Otherwise I may have to consider wearing Depends or move into my bathroom. ______________________________________________________ , Have you tried any acidolpholis? I had a similar problem after taking antibiotics a few months ago and I was miserable. I got lactinex from the pharmacy which is a live bacteria acidolpholis and available otc but they keep it refridgerated, so You have to ask for it. Others have tried other brands with good results. Another thought is the yogurt...Are you having problems with dairy? Also you might try increasing protein and decreasing the fruit and salads. When I eat a lot of fruit the natural sugars slow my losses and increase my Bm's. You know my common channel is 50 also and I am having to be really good as I'm anticipating batwings and a pannie in 4 weeks. I've got to get things together as I can't have bowel issues with both arms wrapped and a abdominal incision....LOL. BTW what did you decide about you having a pannie? Guest guest
Some people have those kind of bathroom issues when they eat salads. Lettuce just tears up some folks and salad dressings are often loaded with fats. Possible source. Have you changed any meds? Vitamins? These can make a difference also. For example calcium can constipate some people...have you changed or decreased yur calcium...or any other med that may cause a change. Then sometimes shit just happens. Guest guest
I'm home from Vancouver/Portland. Barton and I had a chance to talk Friday evening and most of Saturday. He sent his wife out of the room for a long time and we talked about the times we've shared, and then he had some things to tell me. He died Sunday afternoon as his wife and I sat holding his hand and his 18 month old son played in the room. It was the most peaceful death I've ever been part of it. He was aware and interactive until the last five minuets or so. He stopped talking and his breathing began to get slower and slower. Then, he just didn't breath and escaped mortality. It was so unlike any other death I've witnessed (and I've witnessed scores of deaths). An odd experience coming from the blessing of a newly born boy to the death bed of a friend. But what a symbol of life going on. Thanks to those of you who kept us in your prayers. Jim
Guest guest
Banks, I had that problem for nearly a year. I had to keep four extra pair of underwear in my backpack and I had two complete changes of clothes in the trunk of my car. No explanation as to why I had that malady, and then it just stopped. I wasn't eating salads or fatty food, either. I had the " cool whip " poop too. I would suggest you chat with Dr. K about this as it all stopped when he repaired the hernia and bowel adhesions this past June. Nairy a symptom since then. As for suggestions, try those ultra thin " women's napkins " and apply one snugly against the exit. That's what I had to do. Jim

True to my word, The diarrhea came and went. I'm so glad it's summer. I'm on a fruit kick....It just stops my losses so bad. I'm either eating eggs or fruit. I need to make it just eggs and eliminate the fruit if I want to lose 10 more pounds in the next 4 weeks.

Guest guest
Jim, I'm so sorry you lost your friend! But, it sounds like it was a very gentle passing. It's wonderful that you were able to spend some time together talking. Not many people get that chance when someone they love passes. You're in my thoughts and prayers, my friend! Hugs! Grapes! It does slow the loss but it tastes soooo good! But, I'm trying to back off the sugar right now. Our new vending machine at work actually has a sugarless candy bar with 1 net carb. It's really tasty! Now, I just have to stop putting the amaretto sweetener in my cappucino in the mornings. LOL! I was so relieved at the support meeting to find that I'd lost almost all of what I gained. Only one pound more than the last time I weighed. Now I have to work on making that a negative number. Which reminds me, I gotta finish my exercises for tonight so I'd better end this and get off my butt (as Mama Jo said). Hugs!
