For the hernia repair, only about three or four days. Less than a

week.

We can't answer that. Ask your surgeon.

It shouldn't be a problem if the surgeon says it needs to go.

You are unique.

Hope this helps, Marta

Vicki

Check out this link it may answer many of your questions.

http://www.facs.org/public_info/operation/hernrep.pdf

I simply went to a search engine and typed in hernia. If you would

do something like this it would help you understand better about

what is going on and that way you could talk to your surgeon about

any areas of special concern you may have from a more informed

position.

I'm sorry to hear you have to go through another surgery, especially

when you don't need to have a tummy tuck to go along with it.

Surgery sucks even when the procedure isn't nearly as involved as

something like the DS. But look at the bright side...your tummy

isn't just big or a weird shaped you have to live with. You have a

hernia and that is fixable. And after the hernia is fixed I think

you will be much more please with your shape.

Now dear, go do a litte research so that you can narrow down a

couple specific questions for your surgeon.

Hugs

Jo

Vicki, everyone is different!

I was told that the hernia repair and TT would be 10 times more

painful and miserable than the ds was, and I was up, walking, and

even out dancing at the bar a week after surgery (I tucked the drains

in my pantyhose). I had very little discomfort or pain, and other

than the fluid build up that needed drained every few days, I had no

complications at all.

Everyone reacts different, some feel severe pain and are out of it

for several weeks, some bounce right back up in days, some need mesh,

some don't, some have a hip to hip incision, some have the anchor

incision, it is hard to answer your questions because you ARE unique,

you are different than me and I am different from Marta, and Marta is

different from Jo, etc......we all will have a different experience.

My hernia repair was very simple, almost painless, and I recovered in

days and I even had a TT with it! But I have seen others who had

long, complicated, painful recoveries ......you just never know!

Don't stress it! Take it one day at a time, talk to your Doc, and get

the answers you need! he knows best!

HUGS!

Because we all are. We have all had the very same thing done with

our insides, and we all have different reactions, results, and

healing time.

It is just the way we are....all different.
