Guest guest
My doctor called in a compounded prescription to Women’s International. I feel much better than I did on the reformulated Armour or the Naturethroid. I’m sorry for the shortage but glad that I ended up switching to the compounded version. I received a call from WIP that they are out of naturethroid. Where do we go from here? Is it back to synthetics? I was not feeling all that great on NT, anyway, so I just don't know what to do. I should hear from the doc tomorrow. Has anyone else ran into this? Thanks, Kim
Guest guest
WIP has dessicated thyroid powder which they can put into capsules for you. If your doc is not used to writing for compounds, he can call and talk to a pharmacist. Their prices are much better than most other compounders. They quoted me $44 for a thirty day supply of 2.5 grains twice a day. They can put up to five grains into one of those little capsules. They use only olive oil as a filler. Another option would be to send a prescription for "Thyroid" to Canada. ERFA bought the rights to the old Parke- Thyroid. You can send it directly to the manufacturer (ERFA) or to one of several Canadian pharmacies. It comes in 30 mg, 60 mg and 125 mg (the same as Armour 120 mg) and is dispensed in bottles of 100 or 500. It is much cheaper if you can use the bottle of 500. It has a three year shelf life. http://thyroid.erfa.net/ If you go to synthetics, make sure you get some T3 to replace what you were getting in Armour. >> I received a call from WIP that they are out of naturethroid.
