Guest guest
Dear Kolette, On behalf of all our members, welcome to our Erythema Nodosum Group! Thanks for sending in your Questionnaire. I have added the information to our " Member Medical History " Files on the Group site and posted it below. You now have Full EN Group privileges. You are receiving All EN Group emails, and you can also go to the EN Group site whenever you like: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/erythema_nodosum_Group/ and logging on with your Yahoo ID and secret password. You do not have to have the group emails delivered to be a member here. It appears that the strep infection is your trigger. Sometimes those who have EN due to strep get over it and never get it again, but some of us keep getting EN and reoccuring strep infections. We seem to be extra sensitive to strep. I'm glad you are starting to improve. If you ease into activity you may avoid another relapse. Welcome to our Friendly Group! Love, **** Kolette Cristante's Case History 3/28/06 1. Your name and age: Kolette Cristante age 37 2. Your location BC Canada 3. Your email address: kolette@... kocristante@... 4. Your Yahoo ID kocristante 5. Describe your erythema nodosum/PG symptoms or, if you do not have EN or PG, please explain why you wish to join this group. My EN symtoms started out as red marks on my shins, then within days became bigger, bright, red bruise like. The marks appeared on my left wrist, then elbow, then knees (both) and now left ankle. I first suffered with terrible head aches (assuming from joint pain in the top of the neck, where the skull and neck meet). My hips and lower back have also suffered joint pain. My knees have both been swollen for weeks and my left foot has been swollen for a week. For the first week I was very crippled in the left side of my body but that subsided and now the stiffness and pain in my knees and elbows makes it very painful and difficult to walk. The headaches are gone. I am in my sixth week. After week 3 I was starting to get better then had a relapse and started to get worse then ever. Week 4 and 5 were not good and now into week six I am feeling some relief. 6. List any other health conditions. None. 7. State what medications or treatments you take for EN, and their effectiveness: aspirin, to prevent blood clots and to act as an anti inflamatory and pain relief - did not find it helpful, but was probably keeping my blood thin I was perscirbed Celebrex as an anti inflamatory and pain control last week. I took one 2 days ago, and felt good the next day. Coincidence, I don't know. I also spent the whole day in bed, so maybe it was the bedrest that made me feel better. Lots of rest, which is hard to do and I know it is important. Bed rest is hard on you mentally. 8. When did you first get erythema nodosum or PG? I was diagnosed with Strep throat Feb 18, 2006 and then with EN on Feb 24, 2006, almost a week after having Strep 9. How long have you had erythema nodosum or PG? It has been 6 weeks now. 10. Do you agree to treat all EN members with respect? Absolutely 11.Do you agree to post NO adertisements for any products or services? Yes 12. How did you find this Group?
