Guest guest
My son has always liked chasing/laughing with other kids on the playground and when we go out. It used to take him awhile to warm up, but once he did, he would be ok. Well, since starting biomed, he no longer takes time to " warm up. " He doesn't even want to play anywhere unless kids are around, and even answers when they ask him his name, his age, etc. which is a good change for him. Howerver, his " following " has gotten more extreme and I think he is developing the personal space issue. He will follow very closely behind them when they are running, climbing sliding, etc. When they are on the ground, he isn't too close though. I keep hearing kids say " stop following me!! " and just recently a mom was barackading the slide entrance so my son couldn't get on and even said something to my son about it! Kids will hide so he can't find them and he will look at me and say " where'd the kids go, mama?? " I feel so bad. My son was also very distant when my baby was born in May, but is now all over him. He gets directly in his face and says hi to him, kisses all over him, makes noises in his face, etc. We think it's great he loves his brother and loves kids now, but I think he is developing the dreaded " personal space " issue. Anyone else experience this? Does this have something to do with biomed or is it just the next part of autism??? Any advice??
