My son is smelling his hands constantly? Could this be bacteria/strep related?

My son is smelling his hands constantly. He started this the day after

I had some bloodwork and I gave him some iron. I know iron feeds

viruses but he's low as it is. He has also had a cough for three

weeks. Could this be bacteria or strep related? He is on Valtrex and

Diflucan right now. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them

because this is really driving me nuts and I feel something is going on.
