What is the difference between the Canadian thy meds and compounded t4/

Please write him up in the Database. Last name, first name, degree, in that order, please.

ERFA Thyroid from Canada is natural desiccated thyroid in a pill similar to the old Armour. If you are getting compounded T3/T4, you are getting synthetics. It is also possible to get compounded desiccated thyroid from certain compounders.

I am now getting the compounded porcine product from WIP. Would the canadian product be better or closer to armour?Sent from my iPhone

ERFA Thyroid from Canada is natural desiccated thyroid in a pill similar to the old Armour. If you are getting compounded T3/T4, you are getting synthetics. It is also possible to get compounded desiccated thyroid from certain compounders.

If you are doing well on the compound, then I would stick with it. If not, then you might want to try the ERFA. Or you might want to try a different compounding pharmacy.

Be aware that a few folks have gotten severe GI problems on the ERFA.

I chose the ERFA over the compound, because I like to be able to adjust my dose.

What you may need is highly individual.
