Guest guest
Dear M, I sure didn't mean to gloat about getting into remission. I think after a year of having the shoulder/arm pain keeping me from doing any yardwork, I was just so thrilled to get back to it. :-/ I know you check drugs out before taking them, and since I was not familiar with amitriptyline I did a search myself. What interested me was way at the end of the article: http://www.prozactruth.com/amitriptyline.htm <<Withdrawal Symptoms: Abrupt cessation of treatment after prolonged administration may produce nausea, headache, and malaise. Gradual dosage reduction has been reported to produce, within 2 weeks, transient symptoms including irritability, restlessness, and dream and sleep disturbance. >> I wonder if you were going through a bad withdrawal. Sounds like even a gradual cessation of treatment is nasty. I also noted the weight gain (or loss) like prednisone as a side effect. I know of only one person who lost weight from prednisone ,and of course it was Jim, who wasn't fat to start with. :-( I have just the teeniest idea what you are going through from my Hippie Days when a " friend " slipped me some strange pill. I crawled the walls all night. And when I finally " came down " I couldn't believe that was the effect they all were going for. No thank you!! M, I hope you have informed your dr. of all this, as the amitriptyline could be the reason for the awful way you feel. From what I read it is pretty powerful stuff. Maybe the dr. can prescribe a different dose or a different drug. You're in my prayers to have a painfree and restful night, Girlfriend. Guest guest
I didn't think you were gloating at all, ! I just thought it was funny . . . Thanks for the info . . . I did look it up too, which is why I cried the first 24 hours before I bought the stuff. I do NOT want the weight gain. I'm on the lowest dose possible, I think. I'm positive that what I was feeling was a relapse of what I had already. Same thing all the way around . . . but who the heck knows anymore. I just know I'm exhausted . . . and I'm hitting the sack right quick! Shins up! M =) > > Dear M, > I sure didn't mean to gloat about getting into remission.
