Guest guest
Dear Abigail, On behalf of all our members, welcome to our Erythema Nodosum Group! Thanks for sending in your Questionnaire. I have added the information to our " Member Medical History " Files on the Group site and posted it below. You now have Full EN Group privileges. You are receiving ALL EN Group emails, and you can also go to the EN Group site whenever you like: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/erythema_nodosum_Group/ and logging on with your Yahoo ID and secret password. You do not have to have the group emails delivered to be a member here. As you are aware, your case of EN may have either birth control pills, the strep. infection or the antibiotic as the trigger. This puts you at a great advantage, as you have a place to start. If the strep. was the trigger, that could mean that you are very sensitive to it, and some members continue to get EN chronically even though we know that strep. is the cause. Please try to get as much rest as you can, with leg elevation. EN that is not in a complete remission may relapse. Some of us take longer than the 6-8 weeks the text books give for a flare up, so don't be disappointed if you do too. The bruised look may take even longer than the lumps. I think you are our first Israeli member. Shalom and Welcome to our Friendly Group! Love, ****** 1. Your name and age: Abigail Heumann 32 years old 2. Your location: Israel 3. Your email address: abimax@... 4. Your Yahoo ID abih2807 5. Describe your erythema nodosum/PG symptoms or, if you do not have EN or PG, please explain why you wish to join this group. I was diagnosed with EN two weeks ago. I had a very bad streptoccocal infection in my throat two weeks before and had just finished the antibiotics when the EN began. Also, my gynecologist changed my birth control pills a month before. I have the rash on my shins still hasn't gone away and the joint pain has basically made it impossible for me to do anything. The doctors aren't quite sure if my EN was the result of the strep throat, the antibiotics or the oral contraceptives. I am still in pain and the marks on my legs haven't gone away. My ESR has gone down from 117 to 80, but besides that there hasn't been much of an improvement. 6. List any other health conditions. I have Hashimoto's Thyroditis and asthma. 7. State what medications or treatments you take for EN, and their effectiveness: I was on Naproxin and my doctor has now put me on etorcoxib 90mg (the 60 mg didn't help). I haven't started the 90 mg yet. The previos medication didn't help much. 8. When did you first get erythema nodosum or PG? 2 1/2 weeks ago 9.
