Guest guest
This is very interesting. I wonder what bases they are using this at, because where I am, they have Germ X and Purell all over the place. The PX is selling the normal hand sanitizer that you can buy in any store.. Guest guest
A little shame goes a long way! I can see a whole new market opening up. Talking toilets for homes! Flush the toilet and a slightly snarky voice pipes up with, " Soap it off or eat it later. " How about an option to record your own voice into the toilet to remind the one's you live with to wash up. No kids in the house, then a message like, " OK. Now wash up or you can forget about touching me with those hands. " For homes with kids, " Wash your hands or you get nothing but broccoli and spinach for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week. " I'm calling Kohler, Moen, and American Standard right now. I can feel a bidding war for this idea... > > info - > Researchers find shame makes people soap up - > http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Researchers+find+shame+makes+people+soap/210375\ 8/story.html > > Alana
Guest guest
LOL! Let us know when you become a millionaire! Me, I'm calling the doorknob makers, I think that's the other money maker here. Especially if they can put a germ sensor on there... LOUD blaring noise, especially on a public restroom door, followed by an announcement, in a VERY CLEAR voice, that can be heard for a hundred feet or so, " ATTENTION, PLEASE! DO NOT TOUCH THE SLOB LEAVING THE LAVATORY. GERMS HAVE BEEN SENSED, HANDS HAVE NOT BEEN PROPERLY WASHED. " ROFL > A little shame goes a long way! I can see a whole new market opening up. Guest guest
That is funny, but you know what, sometimes that is what it takes to get humans to do what they need to do. That is one of the best idea's I have heard yet. LOL To: asthma Sent: Mon, November 9, 2009 11:35:45 PMSubject: Re: Re: info - hand hygiene LOL! Guest guest
Hmm, I don't know how well it would work though, as you ALWAYS have germs on you. Being totally germ free is not a good thing either - your body can tolerate up to a certain level of germiness before it makes you ill, but the less you are exposed to germs, hte lower the level of germs that make you ill will be. Guest guest
I'd think that *right* after you've (in theory) *just* washed your hands, the level of germs should be much lower than if you've just used the " facilities " and NOT washed. They should be able to measure the difference. Eh, it's probably science fiction, and I'll have to save it for some November when I decide to try that genre for my " NaNoWriMo " effort. I'm doing romantic comedy again this year, it's comfortable and familiar! (www.nanowrimo.org, where 100k people are each trying to write a 50,000 word novel in the 30 days of November!) Guest guest
Yes I know, you shouldn't be germ free. You would have to live in a bubble. What I meant was, sometimes, people are not thinking, they are in a hurry, or just don't care. I meant from a psychological standpoint, that if you remind them over and over they will hopefully change the unhealthy behavior.
