Guest guest
>> I am taking thses and looking annyone currently or previousely taking these drugs for nerve pain << Hi Chaz, I am taking 1800mg of Neurontin daily. I went all the way up to 2400mg a day with no problems, but reduced my dose again because there was no extra benefit. The only side effect I have from Neurontin is dopiness and short term memory loss - but that could be from the narcotics I'm taking. I also have appetite loss from something, but again my doctor says that it's more likely from the narcotics. Neurontin has really helped me with the pain radiating down my right leg. I have severe sciatica. I used to feel like someone had been dragging me around by my right leg while whacking my hip with a baseball bat. I still feel like that on really bad days, but in general it's improved since I've been taking Neurontin. Is this what you needed to know? Guest guest
Hello Chaz, I have been taking Neurontin for about 3.5 years for nerve pain. I have bilateral Peripheral Neuropathy that is induced from Spinal nerve root compression. I know that many people have had major problems with Neurontin, but I am very lucky in that I have not had one side effect from it except that it tends to cloud my memory a bit, but that could just be middle age. <G> Without it I would not be able to stand at all without horrible nerve pain and stinging. I felt like I was in an ant bed all the time and my legs would also go numb all the time. It has been a great medication for me. Please feel free to email me offlist if you have any specific questions. Good luck and best regards, New York Authors Webpage: http://www.AuthorsDen.com/Huber Huber@... Guest guest
Dear Chaz, I did and I slipped badly. I lost quite a bit of mobility and nerve problems I was having once in a blue moon in my hands increased. I had to be taken off gabitril and nortriptylne took its place. I have been better since, my hand problem stayed where it was but otherwise I am doing pretty well. While my story is bad, it doesn't necessarily mean it will be bad for you also. It may just work for you, I have heard from others that gabitril and nuerontin do work well. Hope you turn out to be one of the successes. Guest guest
" Just another question, what do you for the side effects especially the short term memory loss? " Write everything important down. I keep a log of all the medications I take and when I take them. I write down my wife's cell phone number and her office number. I have forgotten those numerous times. She writes down for me every day on her calendar what time she will be home. Authors Webpage: http://www.AuthorsDen.com/Huber Huber@...
