Nadas who fool people (Theresa)

Hi KOs,

I've been away from the list for a few days, just now catching up on

the latest shenanigans from Theresa's Nada, and am totally creeped-

out. Blech! It's just the sort of pre-emptive propaganda campaign

that my Nada used to launch. Many of my extended biological family

still idolize her memory and think that I'm either crazy or just an

ungrateful b*tch.

There's something that keeps coming back to me that I think I need to

say (maybe just for my own sake, but here it is anyway!):

Ted Bundy fooled hundreds of people (he was actually a highly-

respected suicide hotline counsellor before he was arrested). That

doesn't mean he wasn't a cold, calculating, psychopathic murderer.

Lay and Skilling fooled the many thousands of people

who bought Enron stock. That doesn't mean these guys aren't con

artists and criminals (and maybe ASPDs, to boot!)

Adolf Hitler fooled millions of people...

Just because Theresa's Nada fooled some people doesn't mean she's a

healthy, kind, loving mother/grandmother. I think that one reason

it's so hard to get BPs into treatment, or even acknowledge their

illness, is because they can usually keep finding new people to fool.

I think it's so great that we have a place where it's safe to

disclose these things and where we know we will be supported and

believed. I am still haunted by my Nada's lies, but

gradually " busting " those old ghosts thanks to all of you.
