Guest guest
Dr. Kelley in sdale was my pain doctor back in the early 1990's. He's a physical medicine/rehabilitation specialist. I don't know if he's still there since it's now a decade later, but you could check the phone book. Dr. Kelley's a good man who helped me. I moved away from PHX in 1996. >Hello Group, > >I know it has been some time since I have posted and I do apologize, >but I have been having so much trouble finding a doctor who will >treat my pain and I am writing to ask if anyone knows of a doctor in >the Phoenix area. > snip -- Joe Sutherland, joesutherland@... on 06/13/2004
Guest guest
Hi , I wish I knew of a good doc in your area...I live in Indiana. I am so sorry for what you are going thru. You're right...there has to be a compassionate doc in Phoenix. You mentioned not being able to use the pain patches because of an allergy. Have you ever heard of using lollipops with the pain med in them instead of the patches? I have read about it somewhere on the Internet. It might be worth talking to your doc about it. I have never bought any meds over the Internet so I can't help you with that. I do hope you can get some relief soon...your suffering so much is so unfair. Good luck, Kay
Guest guest
Hi Kay, Someone correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that the suckers are for breakthrough pain as they are a short term or short acting form of the medication. Yes, I wish so much that the medication in the patch did come in another form such as pills so that I could use it. It was the first thing that helped my pain enough that I actually had breakthrough pain. I normally have to use my breakthrough medications just to maintain a lv 8 or 9 rather than for breakthrough pain. Thank you Kay for responding and your kind message and suggestion. Guest guest
I have the Actiq and Kadian- was a time I had morphine, oxycodone, dilaudid and something else- my current combo works just fine. The Actiq can work for longer than it states, which was aaa pleasant surrprse. Regards, Diane

Guest guest
Kay, it was a wonderful suggestion, I too wondered about the suckers as well. Someone mentioned that they do last longer than most believe and I plan to see if I might be changed over to them for short term or breakthrough pain. wish me luck. > > Hi , > I didn't know that about the lollipops. Guest guest
thank you for your kind thoughts and words. I have read many of your post and am a bit of a fan as you often echo the same sentiments I feel but sometimes am not brave enough to print! Yes, thank goodness we are all out here for each other, I really think being part of this group and others has kept me from losing all hope and with the kindness from others and hearing how others suffer and manage to survive it gives me strength. Your offer of being able to contact you pvt will remain on my priority list and I may take you up on it sometime, Thank you so very much, many of your postings are very beneficial to me.
