Yes, steroid in my case means corticosteroid (Asmanex). I haven't taken it because I think I have fairly mild asthma and it doesn't bother me every day so I hate to become dependent on an inhaled medication. But my peak flow has dropped to only 250, so I probably should. I just haven't been able to bring myself to do it when I'm really feeling pretty much OK, no problem during exercise. But occasionally I feel a little breathless.

A few years ago I took Advair but stopped it when I started Xolair shots for asthma. I actually felt better without the Advair and didn't like the ads saying it should be a last choice medication. I am also taking Clarinex and occasionally Nasonex for allergies.

So, why haven't you taken the medicine? What were you taking before?I am trying to find your orginal post and so far can not.

I hope " steriod " means " corti-steroid " because anyone that is New would think just steroid, the ones that athletes can get into trouble with. I got scared the first time they told me and gave me a " steroid " to use for my asthma and no, I didn't take it either.
