Hello everyone I thought I would reply to you as what you just described was the same thing that happened to me. going back 22 years ago I started a new job and came out in spots around my ankle and my lower calf my legs ached a bit but I thought nothing of it as I worked in a factory making pies and there was a lot of dust from the flour, this went on for about a week then although I had the lumps still they had gone down to cut a long story short I went into work about 3 weeks later and started to feel unwell my ankles had swollen and I had pains in nearly all of my joints within an hour I had trouble walking I asked my manager if I could go home he told me to go so I went into the toilets to put some water on my forehead as I was hot and that was all I could remember I could hear everyone but was paralized could not move my body or talk or do anything that was at 2.45pm I eventually came round at 3.55am in hospital the following morning I had collapsed the whole of my

body hurt I felt as if someone had run me down, they asked me if I had a sore throat or cough and I said no then the tests came back I had rhumatic fever which suprised everyone as the common condition of this is a sore throat needless to say I was their guinea pig then as it is rare over here for anyone to have this condition then I developed en and collapsed a couple of times before I got over it the rhumatic fever lasted 5 weeks and it took me a year to get over it but since then I have had no energy at all allway feel low and out of energy, hope this helps all I do is rest my legs as I have found nothing helps my flare ups all the best cierraandsavanna wrote: I have been diagnosed with EN in the past few months. It started with swollen spots above my ankle bones and a few smaller ones on my feet and

achilles tendon and knees. Now I have a large one on my calf. I've read a lot about this disease and I still don't quite understand it. I thought it was supposed to go away rather quickly but my first spots were last summer. Then in October I got horribly sick, collapsed a few times and had horrible joint pain. I thought it was a virus since it went away in a couple of weeks and my two small children had something also. One child had a rash that looked like fifth disease. Then a doctor said I had (have) epstein barr but the other dr is not so sure about that. So I'm not sure what the cause of this is but I still tire easily and need extra sleep. Is it normal for the bumps to go down and then flare up for no apparent reason? I don't take anything for it except I do wrap my legs with ace bandages which really helps a lot. My dr gave me "non steroidal

anti-inflammatories" but they didn't help. Sometimes my hip joints still hurt. My rheumatologist has tested me for everything under the sun and my bloodwork is all "normal" with the exception of the epstein barr markers and a slightly elevated crp. It's my understanding that this is more of an annoying disease, rather than life threatening. Is this true?Thank you for your help anyone!
