Guest guest
While at the hospital yesterday, I was invited to visit one of the patients on the 5th floor. We read a Dr. Seuss book. Libby has no hair, skin white as snow, and sunken but joyous eyes. Libby is three years old. As we read, I caught a glimpse of Libby's mom sleeping. No pain for me for 10 minutes, but it seemed like hours. 3 Cheers, Alan Raleigh, NC

Guest guest
Sometimes we all need reminders of just how lucky we are. I saw a man in Walmart today with a seeing eye dog. The magnum of the occasion was not as profound as yours but it still made me think. I cannot bare to see childern that are sick or abused. Guest guest
Dear Alan, Thanks for sharing that story with us. Being in pain almost constantly, I know that I sometimes get so wrapped up in what's going on in my world, that I forget to be grateful for what I DO have. Then I hear a story like the one you've shared about Libby, still just a baby, and everything gets put back into perspective. It was wonderful of you to sit there and read Dr. Seuss with her. I'm sure she was delighted, as any 3 year old would be, and her mother appreciated the nap. Jen
