Guest guest
Hi,Dawk here,I used the Bullworker with great results back when I was playing football in high school(1974).I like the dumbells now cause I can train in my own little apt. which has zip for room. This is how the Bullworker has come back and been better than weights at times for me.The other day when I was pumping out some curls,I got down on my knees and started using the old abdominal wheel, the wheel with a bar thru it that the wrestler Bob Bachland endorsed for his great shape back in the late 70's,or earlier 80's.It pulled my abs so much that it reignited a small umbellical hernia that I have to live with having no health insurance. It seems to heal and never bothers me if I take care of it.I did go to the doctors and found out what the hernia was all about.1 stich to fix and a 4,000 dollar bill.I kept it at bay and still worked, manually, using a ab wrap with velcro fasteners and some beer coasters positioned over the injury. With some heavy lifting I can reinjure it sometimes. With the Bullworker, using inward compression and outwards too,I get a good body workout without reinjuring myself.Incase you don't know about hernias, this one is near your navel and not near your groin which is more serious. If you ever thought how much you would have to exert the Bullworker,in this instance,my own body tells me.When you are 49 like I am now,and you see all your freinds with expanding beer guts, you want to stay with the Bullworker....do your aerobics too, thats most important...run,ride your bike,or walk,if you can't swim....thanks guys, thats my view...Dawk. PS. I ran this idea over with the weight lifter Dave Draper, using the magig of the internet, and he said I had a good idea in training around an injury.I don't know him,but met him on-line,he's a great guy and will talk to all.Go to Google and you will find his site. Guest guest
Hi guys, From what I know the Bullworker gold is the original X5 with the webbing straps and the Bullworker super 4 has a different arrangement more like the old cable instead of the webbing strap. One is made in India and the other in Japan. Others may be able to offer more info but I hope this helps. Guest guest
This is what I appreciate about this particular user group. Real experience and sound advice. Thanks Dawk. I know it's down to careful attention to technique but a lot of injuries occur using weights. My guess is it's very difficult to badly injure yourself with a Bullworker. The potential energy of a weight will only alter within its dropping distance off the floor whereas the Bullworker responds gradually to the pressure you offer. A safer proposition in my view.
