I'm 46 & about to start treatment. My boyfriend ("Semi" cuz that's the kind of bf he is) is just diagnosed type 1 with cirrhosis. He's about to start a souped up trial trmt (daily shots) since his cirrhosis is fairly advanced. I thought you were doing really well with the chat tonight. There is a love of experience here and a LOT of love and support. Guest guest Posted December 16, 2003 Report Share Posted December 16, 2003 I am genotype 1 with stage one fibrosis.I was treated in 98-99.At that time we had to do a full year of treatment.You will only need 24wks of treatment.My advice is to go for it now.Yes you could be very sick depending on what teatment they start you on.I have cleared the virus and was 55 when I had treatment.Now is the best time.How old are the grandchildren and will you be looking after them.Do not panic we will walk you through the treatment and help you all we can.Nice meeting you.
