Guest guest
Hi Sandy, My injury is work related too, which helps you understand how difficult it is to get the proper assistance financially and for our health and sanity....I am sorry to hear that you too are still fighting for disability, mine has been ongoing for over a year now as well....your injury sounds so very painful too and I hope that the pain meds help you to cope.... the stress involved in the whole picture is so very frustrating and can cause us so much more pain, for me anyway....thank you for sharing with me and I hope we can chat again soon, when my brain is working a little better....janine
Guest guest
Hi Sandy, I guess I am not really thinking straight today, dont know if this message is going to sent twice, but i seemed to have a problem with sending it earlier....just want to thank you for responding. My injury is work related as well, and for me anyway, has made this painful journey more difficult...as, they do not approve the right help....so, my pain, emotional state due to the injury have not been addressed as they should have...i too have been waiting for over a year for an answer on disability....so i understand your financial issues for sure...i have even lost my vehicle...but, driving hurts anyway, so i guess thats not the worst thing that could happen....others have it alot worse than myself...at least i have a home which i am grateful for........I am so sorry to hear of your pain and surgeries that did not help......i had shoulder surgery that did nothing to stop the pain.....I do hope that you do get some relief from your pain with meds...I would like to chat again, when my brain seems to be working, today its like mush......janine
Guest guest
Janine, thanks for responding and I sure hope your situation gets better for you, and you pain gets under control too! Don't we all! I wish there was a miracle drug that would wipe out pain but that would hurt the drug companies so badly! Hehehe...sorry just trying to make a little fun out of a bad situation. I agree with you when you said there are probably others that are worse off, I haven't lost my vehicle but driving has been very little here too. I can hardly stand it when I'm just riding in the car let a lone driving one. What do you do to try to keep your mind off of your pain? Besides taking pain meds and sleeping, not much we can do huh? Did you say where you are? I'm in Indiana, if I didn't tell you before. Here is to a better day tomorrow than today, and wishing you have a pain free day!! Guest guest
WOW Sandy!...I initially hurt my back the same way, I was a cna...doing a pt transfer with my charge nurse...Altzheimers pt. male, about 200lbs....anyway, we got him in the chair, I went to the floor! There is a bit more to the story, but thats when things started going downhill....that was in 97. Glad to hear you have *some* doc that will help with your pain...best of luck with W/C and SSDI!! I am scheduled to see an ssdi med examiner this month.....we'll see.... Guest guest
Sandy, I had so similar an experience it's scary. The shrink they sent me to see didn't believe me at all. Of course no one ever checked my MRI and didn't know that I had blown out a disc and had a fracture. I told him to go to hell, that I knew where my pain was and he was not going to sit there and make me feel like I was insane. I never went back. My MD prescribes for me too. I cried many hr.s with him sitting patiently listening to me. Of course I was going through a nasty divorce at the time. The step=father thing. I had 2 daughters which he thought were fare game. All this together made me (this close) to the booby hatch. So girl, I understand what you are going through. Not much fun huh? peace and less pain for you, donna
