Guest guest
Ursula, Kinsey's tach is usually in the 120-140 range. She has been tested for all the usual causes and they have all come back normal. So like everything else we are just watching it. We have had quite a week here too! Chicken pox exposure, dental surgery and on Monday my son Garret was hit in the eye by a baseball bat. He had to have 12 stitches and has quite a shiner. He is my dr phobic child with a sensory intergration disorder. It was truly hell - they had to sedate him for the stitches, of course they didn't wait until he was out to start and he totally flipped out. He doesn't remember it (Versed) but he screamed through the entire thing. I was furious. I wanted to just scream with him. He is already having panic attacks about having the stitches taken out. Does Macey ever get worked up like that? Garret was so sick as a small child. He had 5 spinal taps before 2 . I swear that's what did it - along with the sensory disorder. Anyway, I am now dreading the suture removal. Any suggestions for making this easier on him and me I would truly appreciate. Thanks for allowing me to whine a bit :-). Guest guest
Macey also had resting tachy until recently. her heart rate even sedated was 135-140. Lately (last 2 infusions) it has been around 110. which technically is still tachy but we're glad to see it. They attribute her fast heart rate to her anemia. Guest guest
Gail, Sorry about you bad week. I have a suggestion for sucher removal. Will Garrett be more comfortable if you do it instead of the Dr.? Stitches are really easy to remove. Ask your Doc. and see what he says. Garrett may let you do it b/c you would have to tell him that if you don't the Dr. will...but if you're more comfortable, You can do it in the Dr. office while the Dr. oversees. Just talk to your Dr. about it. I removed Zach's. And it was way better than the anxioty we would have gone through in the office. Keep in mind though, what he remembers of the whole thing is terrible. You and I know that the removal is a cake walk, but he won't believe it until he experiences it. Keep us posted. Guest guest
Dear Gail, My heart goes out to you. had to have stitches on Sunday night as well. He did a great job. It could have easily been as you described, however. Our Ped put the stitches in and he knows quite well and took his time and explained it all to him as he went. is scheduled to have dental surgery on Monday. I am dreading that day. He has had 4 surgeries since Jan and any kind of procedure just totally freaks him out right now. He had a hard time just going to the dentist for the exam. He was so upset last time he had surgery that I bet they will have to sedate him very very early. We have to get through treatment day first. Tomorrow is the day for that. I hope that Garret does better with the removal. 's idea sounds great...I might have to suggest that one myself. has to keep his stitches in for 10 days because he is such a poor healer........ Best wishes, Sue W----Mom to Jake (10) and (6)
