Hi all,

I'm new to this group and was diagnosed with hypothyroid 6 months ago. After

being treated for a while with just T4, I switched to a new doctor from the

recommended list. I like my new doctor a lot. He's treating my symptoms not the

lab work, and he spent over an hour on my first visit. He prescribed a

combination of T4 and T3. However, my symptoms still persist. I called their

office yesterday and asked his nurse to prescribe Armour or equivalent because

synthetic hormones don't seem to do much for me. His nurse replied that they

don't prescribe Armour anymore as it is inconsistent after recent reformulation.

Perhaps, we have some people in the group who switched from synthetic to natural

hormones, can you please tell me if it made a big difference for you? How many

days or weeks did it take you to feel the difference? My major complaint is lack

of energy and fatigue, but I have the entire bouquet of hypo-symptoms. Thanks

so much!!!

accepts insurance and prescribes natural hormones. My insurance company denied

coverage for lab work related to thyroid (pre-existing condition), so I'm paying

cash for all my lab work and doctors visits (my current doctor doesn't accept

insurance). I just cannot afford to spend thousands of dollars on a new Dr.

again.

P.S. My doctor is Dr. Launius (ville, TX). He is accepting new

patients, the info here is incorrect.
