Guest guest
Sylvia and Lula, Thanks I did tell her of my boundary and I don't think she understands it. That stunt she pulled was very very strange. I did e-mail her back asking her to leave me alone and that she didnt' understand the situation and misunderstood it. I think she wants to fix things and this she can't. Hopefully she will resepct that, I also sent a Blank copy to my dad's sister since this one hhad sent copies of this one to her as well so that if she went to Jo and said oh Marie is so terrible, she would have a heads up, I think where the e-mail went it will be trashed, should I also send an e-mail to that address too letting them know not to contact me under any circumstance. THanks Marie smhtrain2 wrote: Marie, I think you have the right idea. Tell her straight out about your boundary with your nada. Here is a little bit about my mental process when I am feeling uncomfortable about standing up for myself: 1. Determine what I want 2. Decide the best way to tell it 3. Speak calmly and be respectful to the person 4. If the person becomes disrespectful, end the conversation, leave, do whatever is necessary. Hope this helps, Sylvia > Ok, > I think Carol was right, other nada relatives are trouble, I think I'm casually goign to back off, I think this one knew what she was doing. I think I'll stay away from the others too. She wrote an e- mail to some group at park center, (not where my mother was hospitalized and I don't believe that is where her doctor is so I think it will be trashed) However it's the idea that I let her know what happened and that I think the peacemaker in her took over and thought she could fix Marie and nada. She doesn't understand that nada lies about her illness and was stickign her foot in the way. I'm thinking of telling her this, I wish I'd gotten more responses to my previous posts about family of nada but Carol was the only one to respond excuse the frusteration but I get frusterated asking questions that maybe nobody has the answer too and I jsut get caught deeper. I htink I " m going to have to tell her straight out that I have set a permannet boudary with my mother that says if she > doesnt' like it let it go her problem not mine. My life has straightened out since I've been away from nada and don't want it destroyed again. again HELP how do I respond! > THanks > Marie > > > --------------------------------- > Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page > >
Guest guest
Hi Marie, Glad to help. I'm finding that ever since I joined this group, I keep " swatting " all the boundary violators, like flies! I think it's something we just go thru as part of our healing. Maybe everything is just one huge boundary violation issue (LOL). -Lula --- proflaf1 wrote: > Lula, > Thanks again, bingo can't fix other people. Guest guest
Wow, how much earlier do you have to get up in the morning, just to do all that? LOL  What I was trying to say is that just because albuterol doesn't help doesn't mean that it isn't asthma. My asthma was diagnosed after a methacholine challenge test, my pulmonologist and the tech who administered the test say that's a definitive diagnosis, but albuterol still does nothing for my only symptom, this annoying cough. So we've all got this same " umbrella label " of asthma, but it's almost a different disease for each one of us. Granted, anybody could have COPD in addition to, or instead of, and that's worth investigating too. Hi ,I have to do a combo of both. I am on albuterol (two puffs in the morning, and then only as needed...most of the time that is all for the day), flovent (four puffs in the morning and four puffs at night), singulair (one tablet in the morning), and nasonex (two puffs in each nostril in the morning after shower). Once in a while, like last week something will trigger my asthma and I will need to do my albuterol. The new propellant in any of the three name brands that I have used (Ventolin, Pro-Air, and Proventil) seems to take longer to work than the old propellant...but the doctor says it is because I am not using the aero chamber each time. And she is right.....I should be using it, when I am using it for a triggered breathing episode, but that usually happens at work, and it is cumbersome. Plus, I work as a cashier, and it is one thing to pull out my albuterol and use in front of them, but I am uneasy pulling out an aerochamber with my inhaler and using all of that in front of them LOL. Hugs!Cindi wrote:  Some people seem to need more of the anti-inflammatory fix than the bronchodilation fix. Albuterol does nothing for me, neither did Advair, but Symbicort seems to be helping a lot more. If I didn't have diabetes, they'd put me on prednisone for a week, just to see what it does, but that's got nasty effects on blood sugar. (In my next life, I only want compatible diseases, LOL)  As they say on some other groups I'm on, " YMMV " (Your Mileage May Vary), and " YBYSE " (Your Body, Your Science Experiment).   --, who is STILL waiting for Dr. House to show up... Hi Alana,I have asthma, and your question was interesting. Ventolin is a form of albuterol, and any brand name of albuterol...Ventolin, Proventil, Pro-air works for me if I am in trouble. My thought is that if albuterol does not help, then maybe it is not asthma but a COPD...just my peaceful thought. Guest guest
I have been doing it for so many years that it automatically is counted into the time it takes me to get ready to go to work. It is time consuming...waiting a little bit between the flovent puffs. When I was put on all this medicine many years ago, it was right after being hospitilized a week with and asthma attack that would not go away in ER. When they released me, I was on prednisone for one month, azmacort four puffs FOUR times a day, and the albuterol four times a day....talk about time consuming LOL....At first I was discouraged by the amount of time that took, but then after about a year I was able to cut it down to two times a day with the addition of singulair to my regimine. After those four times a day things...two times a day is nothing LOL! I understood what you were trying to say about the albuterol. You are right...we all experience asthma in many different ways and severity. And I also think that whether a person has had it all their life like me would be different than a person who just got recently diagnosed. Some use neubulizers....I hope I never have to go that route, but if I ever do, at least I have this list to come to with all the questions about that. Trying to envision taking a nebulizer to work and doing THAT in front of customers....I think I would rather pull the aero chamber out in front of them. I don't have an annoying cough such as you do...I get tight in my bronchilal tubes and wheeze...that is why albuterol helps me...but it does not take away the symptoms away like the flovent and singulair do. They keep me happy and breathing most of the time, but triggers make me need the albuterol now and then. Those triggers vary...I am very allergic to diesel fumes. Sometimes my only symptom then is light headed fogginess...other times it is hard to breath. Hugs! Cindi wrote: Wow, how much earlier do you have to get up in the morning, just to do all that? Guest guest
I have two different inhalers which I take twice daily each. When taking them, I alternate puffs so that the canister for one is refilling whilst I'm takng the other, just to save a bit of time. I know what you mean about taking your inhaler in front of customers.... I have battled short of breath through an hour long lesson cos I don't want to take it in front of pupils. At least in my new school I have a walk in cupboard in my classroom, the door of whcih is next to hte board, so I can sneak in there. Jenn Tha can tek t'lass outta Yorkshire...! Don't brand me, don't classify me, don't tell me what to wear. I'll be who I want to be, and I'm proud to be me. Guest guest
that is an interesting concept...I never knew they needed refilling. What I was told was that to wait in between so the medicine got down into the lungs before attempting the next puff....I was told to shake the canister thoroughly in between puffs. Can you better tell me how the canisters refill? Thanks, Cindi A Hill wrote: I have two different inhalers which I take twice daily each.
