In the meantime> Excellent quote and advise. I can't remember who was interested in Tai Chi ??? Low impact Tai Chi is one of the many things on my to do list that I never got around to do. I hear the benefits and results are amazing especially lowing stress and boosting the immune system. If anyone is also interested just look up Tai Chi online and if going to classes isn't your thing their are cheap videos and full instructions available on line. It even comes in low impact and special instructions for people with limited mobility. I know I should follow my own advise !!!!!!!! Take Care and God Bless. Deb Benefits of Tai Chi The low-impact movements that characterize Tai Chi have a big impact on health by helping to: Improve posture and balance. Practicing slow, relaxed, continuous movements enhances awareness of the body and its movement. Increase strength, flexibility and coordination. Tai Chi's slow, deliberate moves and dynamic resistance builds strength and uses all joints without adding stress. Provide a heart-healthy work-out. The slow movements involve major large muscle groups and require significant oxygenation, providing valuable aerobic benefit. Prevent falls. Western researchers suggest that increased strength, concentration, and body awareness reduce fear of falling, as well as the actual number of falls, among older people who practice Tai Chi. Reduce stress. Tai Chi's focus on deep breathing, and a calm, relaxed approach to exercise combats stress. Improve memory and concentration. The interaction of mind and body helps promote better mental as well as physical health.
