All right all you wise people..am putting out a call for suggestions. I

know some of you have taken your children on vacation ...right? a few?

one?????

Anyway Ric and I are planning a 11 day vacation from home to a

neighbouring province. We live mid-August and it is 10 hours away, we

will be driving all night so kids sleep in car!!!!Anyway, we are staying

for 7 days with close friends of ours, in their home. They both know Nic

and know a lot of what we do with him so have no problems with me taping

pecs symbols up while we there. We have also planned that the activities

we do do are on alternate days so that it is not to much for

NIc.(Remember the days when we tossed a bag in the car and took

off?????)

The second part of the trip: 4 days at Grandma's house. She does not

understand Nic, pecs or our catering to him at all(why only 4 days..3 if

we can contrive a reason to leave early..hotsprings on way

home....hmmmmmm).

So the question is this..do any of you vacation goeers have any hints or

ideas to help this go a bit easier. We have gone away on weekends before

but not for 10 days and never this far away from home. We could always

pack up and drive a few hours home. Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

My best suggestion would be to try to maintain your child's schedule

as much as possible, even if you are in a different location. Maybe

keep mealtimes the same, or bedtime routine the same. Our kids are

creatures of patterns, and change is hard for them to deal with.
