Sorry Vicki, I read this after I responded to your post. Of course,

I know you love your pets! But, I also understand what a shock the

cost of their care can be. Your post was a little misleading,

though. It sounded as if it just happened and you hadn't taken your

baby to the vet yet. Sorry to have misinterpreted!

What a difficult position you are in Vicki! Sometimes we can afford to take

excellent care of our little friends, and sometimes it is much more difficult.

Talk to the vet about making payments... but if you are as unlucky as me, you

may find a vet who wants ALL of his bucks up front before s/he will even take a

look at your pup. Also talk to the vet about your finances. Sometimes they are

only looking at the " best " practice, but there is a lesser choice. I myself

have been in the unfortunate position of having to choose the lesser choice.

Good luck!

Speaking of dogs- OT

FOr all you doggie owners, have you ever had a dog break a tooth. My

jakey broke one of his front teeth and im worried. I called the vet

and they want to do a dental. I can understand that but it is so

expensive- over $200

If it is just a chipped tooth, I wouldn't worry a lot, other than if

it is a sharp chip- but did the Vet say whether the root was exposed

and if they needed to extract it? It sounds like yours are as spoiled

as ours (Have you ever tried brushing 9 dogs teeth and bathing them

in a day?). My biggest fear would be yours, an infection or abcess

and having the dog on pain or sick. What exactly did the vet

erecommend? Don't worry Vick, we know you are not a meanie to your

dog! You will do what's best for it!

cindee- they said the root is not showing and he is not in any pain.

there is also no infection. the tooth broke off (the bottom half) so

he only has half a tooth there. they may still pull it though

because they said he could have problems with it later on. maybe not

but he said it may be better to just pull it.

yep- i just did the teeth brushing yesterday and the bath 2 days

before. they are fine with the bath but they show their teeth when i

use the tooth brush. that actually helps me get their front teeth

better.................lol
