HI ALL,

I have been using bullworker since August, 2005. My strength has definitely increased. Now I can lift my 121 pound wife effortlessly.

I do iso hold for ten seconds. Initially I used to exercise thrice a week. But since last three weeks I exercise twice a week . I find that I gain and lose muscle. Therefore I have never gained muscle much since the start of my bullworker excercises. I take a protein supplements like B-protein, and nutrela. I feel that I am going wrong somewhere in the way I exercise. any suggestions?

I am 50 pounds overweight.

Using one's " significant other " for weight training, well, that's a new one

on me! :)

Arvind, you'll gain strenth, but you won't gain muscle bulk with 2 or 3

times a week. Try 5 times a week *minimum*. The chart that comes with the

current US Bullworker X5 says to do it *every* day, 7 times a week! (Some

say that if you can afford the time, you should even do the exercises twice

a day.) After you've done this for 3-6 months, *then* you can reduce to 2-3

times a week for maintenance.

You're doing a maintenance regimen before you've built up yet, but hey, at

least you've got your strength up. :)

> I am 50 pounds overweight.

For that you'll want aerobic exercise. Running 20-30 minutes a day will

work wonders.

Also, I've personally found that avoiding all bread, sugar, and alcohol

really helps shed the pounds within a matter of a couple of months.

Losing weight is simple a matter of burning more calories than you're taking

in.

Oh you're so close home!...Most of the guys over here live oceans apart... some of the best contributors like are thousands of miles away and I never thought that there would be a mail from someone so close!!! I am definitely not a bull worker champ but I feel what you should do more than working on bullworker is just take a great watch of your diet.. Just keep the oil/fat content in your food to the BARE minimum and have a judicious input of carbohydrates..People here won't know what your B Protein or Nutrela is, but I know for sure that since you are an amateur it's more than enough for you. I also take B Protein. [ By the way for other readers...B Protein is just a low density general protein drink available here] Fill your tummy with lots of sprouts, fibrous foods etc., drink plenty of water and as says have a good aerobic

exercise like brisk walking... I have a crippling knee problem called chondromalacea because of which I hardly have any physical exercise ie. even walking and I have reduced nearly 40 pounds just by dieting. And bull worker has been a boon to a person like me who can't devote much time for exercises in a city like Mumbai, India. However it is impossible with a bullworker regimen like yours to knock off those 50 pounds to get good defined body. Also exercises only two days is JUST not enough, you should motivate to do at least five times a week. But since we're ameaturs never overdo..Don't hold on for more than 10 secs..It will turn counterproductive and you may tend to get injured badly. The only problem with bull wroker is, it appears so easy to do and the results are so quick that we may tend to overdo, which can lead to very painful

conditions. Also you've to check your cardiac condition before you attempt something serious/stremuos. Since I know there are hardly any guys with a great physique in our city [ most of them walking around us are pot bellied!!:-))] , do use some pin ups of guys with good physique from the internet on your desktop to motivate you on a regular basis. Hi Aravind,

Muscle grows when all the muscle fibers are exhausted through

exercise. This can be through bullworker or using weights. Your

muscle doesn't know the difference between the bullworker and

dumbbells. Isometric contraction near lock position for any exercise

employs more fast switch muscle fiber than any other position. Since

maximum of your muscle fibers are employed continuously in ISO

contraction than full range movement there are chances of getting

most of the muscle fibers exhausted in ISO than doing conventional

weight lifting. All it matters is the amount of intensity. Once all

the available muscle fibers are exhausted brain sends signal to

build new and powerful muscle. High intensity ISO contraction

combined with adequate rest between the sessions will give you

phenomenal increase in strength. Within a month and half of 6

training sessions my bench press went from 200 lbs to 300 lbs and I

got 1.5 inches and 3 inches added to my arms and chest. All this 1.5

months I did only ISO contraction and never did any full range

weight training. At the end of 45th day I went to gym to measure my

strength in full range movement. My strength and muscle growth was

not this much when I did ISO 5 times a week. The only problem with

bullworker is backed by more marketing guys than real time hardcode

experienced body builders. Again you body needs rest and time in

order to grow new muscles. Weight training tears muscle and ISO

doesn't are all unacceptable arguments. Again only when all the

muscle fibers are exhausted through any exercise (ISO does the job

better and easier) followed with adequate interval between exercises

to allow body to build muscle can only add muscle mass to your

body.Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Shravan Kumar

Aravind,

You should measure your muscle gain by using a device

that measures body fat %. Muscle strength increase

without muscle mass cannot happen. May be you might

have added muscle mass to your arms and shoulder but

at the same time lost fat over these areas. Normal

measurement taken by an inch tape will show no

improvement but in actual you have shed some fat and

added muscle.

Thanks,

Shravan Kumar
