Guest guest
Hi all,I just came across this excellent article on hypothyroidism - the doctor clearly explains why blood tests are not accurate in many cases: http://acam.typepad.com/blog/2010/06/the-diagnosis-and-treatment-of-hypothyroidism.html This article also covers the thyroid basics extremely well including the topic of poor conversion. He also notes the adrenal connection - i.e., if you have poor adrenal function that needs to be fixed or you just won't convert properly. He also covers 's syndrome which is one case where some folks only need thyroid (usually compounded T3) for a short period of time. However, he notes that the use of Armour works better for many. This seems to be the case for my older son - he had clear hypo symptoms and had lots of nodules. He was on Armour for almost a year and then decided to go off and seems to be doing quite well. My guess is that this might be much more successful in younger folks. B.
