Guest guest
My mother wrote me after we hadn't communicated for most of a year. It was chatty letter, emotionally neutral. I replied in kind. As long as it stays at that level it is OK. - Dan
Guest guest
> Just be careful. Good advice, Jana. She promised to keep to telling about her own life in her letters. Then in her very next letter she asked a bunch of innocent-seeming questions about what I am doing. I feel like when I was a teenager and she gave me the third degree whenever she thought I had a girlfriend. I feel that she is trying to weasel her way under my skin, like she always did before. She has violated her promise. I have not blocked her e-mail before, but I am going to do it now. I will unblock it if and when I am good and ready. - Dan

Actually, I had some kind of boundaries. I refused to talk to her. When she pressed me too hard I said " I won't talk to my enemies about my friends " . Brutal, but it was the only thing I could think of. - Dan
