Guest guest
You mean all of you lost weight from the use of SSKI for EN? That would show that the SSKI did affect the thyroid gland. Thyroid function should be monitored when taking SSKI. Love,

I need to lose about 30 pounds, but then I would have to get all new clothes and all of these clothes are new. So my hubby said I'm not fat, or weigh more, he just says I'm fluffy. That sounds better and cuter. thanks sonja
Guest guest
Like you said there was an initial 5-10 pounds. I think there was an article on Shomon’s site confirming that is the norm…not positive though. I’ve lost 30 using Weight Watchers online. I only average 1 pound per week and that is with staying COMPLETELY on plan. I still have 50+ to go. So it is pretty slow considering that most people start out needing to loose 80+ pounds loose quicker at least at the beginning. I thought giving up gluten and dairy would help me normalize…no such luck. I haven’t really gained any back but I decided last week that I was going to have to focus on staying on plan again with Weight Watchers to get the weight loss going again. Last week I was completely on plan, I lost 1 pound. So being gluten free, soy free, casein free doesn’t seem to be helping my cause. I’m still not feeling up to exercising. I think I’m getting close though. I’m pretty close to optimized I think. Interestingly I even had to cut my dosage back 15 mg about 6 weeks ago. I had been on the same dose for about 1.5 years. I cut back the 15 mg when I suspected that I need to change. Then tried reintroducing the 15 mg again, I couldn’t. I’m due to see Dr R in the next month or two. So we’ll see what insights he has. Sorry I’m not more encouraging. Someone on my Gluten Free Weight Watchers board suggested I read “Recognizing Celiac Disease”. I guess it has a section of nutritional deficiencies and such that might help my body normalize. I ordered the book. It had good reviews on Amazon. I can see why the diet industry has such huge profits. Did it come off on its own when you got to an optimal dose, was it a combination of medication and exercise, or was it exercise alone? I have been feeling extremely frustrated with my weight lately. I've been feeling better lately, but still have no stamina. I want to do a lot, but can't because I know I'll overexert myself and be out of commission for days. I am not at optimal doses for my medications yet, but we're getting there slowly. I have lost about 10lbs without doing anything since I had my last increase in January. I would like to lose about 50 more. I guess I just wanted to hear that there is light at the end of the tunnel. -
Guest guest
I know I am nowhere near optimized on my Armour...just went up to 2 grains. But, magically (or just like my dr said would happen...and I also started to feel much better) when I got to 1 3/4 grain, I just started losing weight. I lost 30 lbs over 4 months and am at a stand still now. I have 30+ more to go. I am hoping when I see Dr. R this month that more will come off with my next increase. I just had a complete hysterectomy and am in menopause now so that may make my weight loss harder Has anyone been able to lose weight that they gained while sick? Guest guest
Kim, in your Weight Watchers plan, are you avoiding all carb-loaded foods, gluten sources or not, such as beans, rice, sugar? I'm curious, if you don't mind sharing the info - have you done a lipid panel since you went gluten-free? Has it improved, and in particular, the triglycierides? Thanks!
