Cinda!!!!! Of COURSE, I remember you! Woo! Wonderful to hear from you. Of

course, I wish the circumstances were different than for your mother to be

having problems.

I do not know... but what comes to mind about your mother would be the

possibility of a hernia. I have a VERY large hernia that is right about in that

same location!

By the way, I started at 370 and I have lost to about 235-40 (depending on the

week). I, too, wish I had lost a lot more... but I haven't. I just have to be

content with being functional... not slim (laf... or even just chunky! :)

Question for dear old Mom

Hi gang, wow! Its been awhile since I have been able to read and post

to this or any list! For those that don't remember me I had a

consult with Dr. K a couple of years a go but I couldn't have him as

my surgeon because of insurance difficulties, however my Mom Pat in

Phx was able to have him do her revision from VBG to DS and is now

about 15 months out. She asked me to get on the board and ask if

anyone knows anything about a problem she is having with her

incision. She said that she has pain at the top 3 or 4 inches down

and 3 or so inches on either side of her incision for a few days now.

Its bad enough that she is going to call Dr. K's office on Monday.

But I can't for the life of me see how this can be from the surgery

because she is so far out from it. Anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks all :)

P.S. Part of the reason that I haven't posted very much is because I

haven't lost as much weight as I think I should have and I'm a little

embarrassed :(

Cinda, Hi, good to hear from you! It could be a hernia like Elle

says, and that is a mixed blessing as she could get a tummy tuck out

of it.

Thanks Elle :) I agree with you that I am very happy

being " functional " but dang it I was hoping to get at least under 200

lbs. But again at least I have my life back and no longer feel like

everyone is staring at me all the time when we go out to eat or to

the movie ect. What are your thoughts about revisions in our

situation?

Cinda :)

Revisions...... hmmm. I don't know. I need to have a hernia repair since Dr. K

says I have a quite large one... and possibly a tummy tuck at that time, but I

confess, I am afraid of a 2nd surgery. I haven't done any counting, but it just

seems that there are more people who have major complications with the 2nd

surgery than with their original DS??? If it were not for the hernia... I would

be done with surgery forever. Because of the hernia.. I guess I have another

surgery in the future... but not for at least another year.
