Awesome Maureen - awesome - that is just how I felt when I read his

stuff - totally empowereed for the first time in ages and like ther was

a light at the end of the tunnel. I have photos of Matt laughing and

smiling fat and happy SMEARED with yogurt - all of which had soluble

fiber in it and he loved chicken dinos bound with extra gluten - deadly

to a gut once the flora is dirupted and inflamation begins...

When I re read all his research and re-read it again and then contacted

him I had very specific questions which he answered,

promptly,sensibly...and then, voila he wound up taking Matt and then

Beth's child, Luke, under his wing pro bono...her offer of $5,000 was

sweet but far below his normal fee for his services, so he told her to

donate it to his foundation, AFTER Luke recovers, and he will use it to

help out other kids with this label and similar issues. He is

absolutely aghast at the lack of medical treatment and the lack of

understanding about what he sees so plainly every time an autism kid is

shown on tv or in the media...malnutition, malabsorption, inflamation,

gut and bowel disease...everything else has to do with that, per him,

whatever the other issues - it all gets MUCH better once you get the

gut stuff in hand, but he knows there is a dearth of good info out

there on the subject...and our kids our like hitting the lottery for

unscrupulous or even clueless but well meaning doctors....if there

treatments strategies mess them up even further or permanently there is

no accountability bc we started out with an incurable neurological

condition, not legitimate illness - what a crock he says, what a racket.

He genuinely cares about these kids on this list, but he cannot take

the time to answer every parents questions and he definitely cannot

help those who are doing multiple treatments and a million -probably

harmful in many cases to an inflamed gut - strategies, but he will help

where he can. Luke, Beth's kid is going to recover even faster than

Matt I think.

He sent me this response when I wrote him tonight asking if he thought

t Matt had bacteria issues again or yeast ones bc he did not stool

today....his belly is flat, I used hydro c yesterday, nothing, GREAT

GAINS all day-true, but no stool...and I was THINKING of going into

Matt's room and giving him some probiotics, just a bit, just in case it

might help, even though K said to ease off all of that for now....it is

as if he read my mind as soon as he saw the email......and he responded

even though I sent it after 10pm...this is what a cool man he is...even

when he is bting my head off for being quick to muck up his advice to

slow down...

Diane,

You are kind of self-diagnosing, and forcing me to answer tonight to

save Matt from more unecessary pain and loss of sleep: Does Matt has

disbacteriosis, or doesn't he? Here are the answers:

-- First, I don't know, because this can be established for sure only

by microbiological exam. You could get another stool test if you are

really concerned;

-- Second, as I told you times and again, if he is forming stools -- he

doesn't...and he is forming stools, but you should re test after

treating wtih Flagyl, now that time has passed, if it will give you

peace of mind. The next time he stools - proof that he does not have

disbacteriosis, take the stool sample in to see if he has

disbacteriosis so you can relax and let him heal in peace.

-- Third, you can't expect a child who was suffering for so long from

disrupted stools and irregularity among other things (this causes

reflexes loss, hence the need to restore anorectal sensitivity over

time), have a normal stool simply because he changed his nutrition or

is taking this or that supplement...

-- Fourth, to make sure that he doesn't accumulate impacted stools, you

are using laxatives ( oxypowder - a terrible and terribly overpriced

product that is a laxative with the added insult of soluble fiber in

which will further disrupt the healing process) or Hydro-C, and these

means, even the best cases, temporarily disrupt the formation of

stools...

SO:

1. PLEASE THROW FROM YOUR HEAD THIS QUESTION and be more patient. At

this point it doesn't matter, and even if it does, there is no instant

fix....he needs ot go every day, but it will take time.

2. DON " T STUFF YOUR SON WITH USELESS AND DAMAGE-CAUSING PROBIOTICS.

(when they ferment with carbs in small intestine they cause painful

bloating and inflammation.)

3. MAINTAIN DAILY STOOLS WITH SUPPOSITORIES.

4. IF STOOLS ARE EVEN MARGINALLY IMPACTED, USE HYRDO-C...

That is all. If you'll continue your quest for instant 'perfection'

and 'normality' from a child with prior damage, you will cause even

more damage. Stop all of it for now and he'll gradually recover, and

both of you will forget this nightmare. And I'll have more time to

complete my projects and write an autism page to help guide parents

away from further injuring their kids guts while they try to heal them.

Konstantin

He told us to give rice and Beth cooked it in broth - my idea-to get

more nutrition on board...it triggered diahrea. And K wrote me before

he knew we had already fed it to Luke...NO BROTH. Why do you insist on

overcomplicating this and enhancing the protocol with " better

strategies " ? He will not get any nutrition from that broth even though

broth is very nutritious - not with CARBS, only at dinner with protein.

Never with carbs at brk and lunch - if you give broth with the rice it

will trigger enzymatic digestion, a peristaltic digestion response, and

then rapid transit...translation, diahrea...thereby undoing the very

reson for feeding white rice - to give the body a break from digestion

so it can use the vast amount of energy it requires for learning,

healing, and recovering....thse kids are digesting non stop, or atleast

12-18 hours a day, and with imparied digestion and elimination this is

agonizing. Stop it.

Interesting stuff, no? I used to feed Mattt sips of soup in a cup ALL

DAY LONG...apples peeled and cored - broccoli and green beans...pulld

it all bsed on this man's research about the same time I started the

Famvir - suddenly Matt is walking a mile at a go even with inflamation

and no bm today...Good night and God Bless. It is going to get better.

By the way, get the book - much of it is online for free but not

vcertain chapters and some specific advise. If you decide to reach the

author with questions personally, have the book and it helps to say

something like it says on page..to show that you have actually done

some HW and he isn;t going to have to simply restate stuff that he

already published. Part of the reason he would take no money from Beth

is that she got most of what was helping Luke, according to him, from

me and Igot it from the site and his book so it was hardly like

personal consultations...though he now gives us advice if we keep our

questions svery specific and they are about gut and bowel issues that

are within his area of experience and expertise...worth a go.

Regarding the quotes below:

Does he believe probiotics are always useless and damage-causing or

only during the early stages of healing? Does this include just a

low level of acidophilus only?

I thought from what I read on his site so far that he maintains that

it is okay in the early healing stages to not stool everyday, at

least if using hydro-c. Why is he recommending suppositories?

I am going to get his book and I will read his site more thoroughly

when I have time (hopefully this weekend.)

Thanks,

I got the book, read it, went on the website, and I'm ready to start making some changes in diet. Can you please forward some questions to K.

1. Is rice pasta okay?

2. Does it make a differance between white rice pasta or brown rice pasta? ( Both have 2 grams of fiber)

3. Are natural sweeters okay in moderation Stevia and Erythritol?

4. Enzymes okay?

I have 2 children I'm worried about. A typical (no autism) 10 yr old with stomach cramps.

A 4 yr old that seems to have prefect bm's. He has a bm after he eats , it's a 5 on the scale from the book. However, dispite alot of early intervention since 19 months, very little improvement on his autism. He does have very high yeast per OAT. Please help.

Re: Fibre menace

It took me awhile to figur eit all out too and I amstill learning -0 with each thing I get right the gains come...so on the subject of probiotics he has PROMISED to right up clear notes on how when and why to give them AND WHEN NOT TO...if there is sufficient interest so tell everyone to send him e amils reminding him that there is interest in this subject and a need for clearer info on the matter...he added a whole extensively researched thing on IBS bc of demand...he will respond to ours too....For now, he says do not give probiotics when stools are formed and the right kind as there is sufficient bacteria - adding more to the mix will just make issues as it will ferment in the gut esp with carbs and undigested fiber....in Matt's case bc ther are gut and stool issues it ferments with everything and give sus the big belly bloating and discomfort ...wehn I stopped the probiotics Matt's belly

flattened out. He says to give hydro c if no bms for three days and then insert a suppository to stimulate a bm two days later - if nothing - it does not have to melt to stimulate a movement...then hydro c the next day...do not let these kids go for days on end without bms that is the most important thing, son;t use fiber to move them as it bulks stools and inhibits the growth of good bacteria and the absorption of precious vits and minerals - as well as stretching out the anus from too large stools and creating opportunities for small tears and discomfort that encourages holding...UP the probiotics is what my dan and others told me...but in our cse once Matt was forming stools this turned out to be an error - a common one if you don;t understand GI function.... there are situations where additional probiotics are called for but ingeneral they are being overone and creating more stuff for our

kids to deal with....it is all on the site actually, but I now it takes some weeding though to find what you need and to put it all together...I hope this helps...they are not useless - he advocates using them...but just not if fementation and putrification are issues - which they are in most of our kids that are having "gut stuff" Di> > Quoting Konstantin:> > > 2. Please, Diane, what is the name of this doctor's book and website?

What suppository do you use? And is hydro c over the counter?

Konstantin is a forensic nutrionist, not a doctor, and he only deals

with gut stuff, not autism per se - though much of what is called

autism these days is really misdiagnosed gut stuff, worsened by

inappropriate treatments - that's his take anyway.

Read the book and the site carefully - it is not a protocol, per se,

and there is no diet. He is just bringing down Matt's inlamation and

trying to heal his gut by feeding only white rice with ghee two times

a day, no snacks, mineral water to drink, and meat - pref pureed meat

cooked into a meatloaf with gravy - meat and fat at dinner for

protein.

And then a BIT of some supplementation of vits and mineral to make

sure some key nutrition gets in, plus CLO. That's it, and that's

all.

The rest is normalizing the stools based on what bowel symptoms there

are - chronic constipation in Matt's case. How to sort stooling is in

the book and on the site. WRITE HIM and tell him that you are

another autism gut parent and you want a link with explicit info, esp

on probiotics, and advice....

He promises to put one up my the end of August if there is sufficient

interest and parents really have a need...So everyone, tell him, put

up a link. Give us some research and help with this thing! He needs

to know that there are alot of us needing to address the gut stuff -

then you can read and make up your own minds if it all clicks with

your kiddo. Much of what he writes about is a match for mine. Di

I will - of course, but only if he does not answer you himself - wich

he probably will since you have read the book and are willing to keep

reading the site and learning. Write exactly this e mail to him

intro yourself and say I heard about you on the mb12 valtrex site and

I got your book, have read it, also the site, and many of Di's

comments about your work. Here are my questions...exactly like that

and wait 24 hours...Di No word, write me and tell me and I will post

him...cheers. Di
