Guest guest
Dear Group, I just checked our Poll Question on How we treat our EN. 21% of those who answered said that they treated with bedrest. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/erythema_nodosum_Group/surveys?id=1522373 I think even more would have selected it if they didn't have to go to work or take care of children. On a scale of taking care of myself during a flare up, bedrest would be ideal followed by leg elevation and support stockings and minimal activity. The worse, at least for me, would be standing. I don't even include exercise because that is out of the question as far as my own EN is concerned. Any dr. who suggest exercise and activity during a flare up simply has not had much experience treating EN and is perhaps guessing it is caused by a lack of circulation. We in this group know otherwise. I think it is worse for a dr. to give wrong advice than to say " I don't know " . I thought the first rule of medicine was " do no harm " .
